Hello everyone,
The 6th season is coming to an end, and it is time to start searching for our next group of contestants that will take part in the next cycle.
GENERAL RULES
1. If you are 19 and turn 20 AFTER March 30th, then you are allowed to enter.
2. If you are 12 and turn 13 BEFORE January 6th, then you are allowed to enter.
3. Past contestants are allowed to enter; however they will be used as alternates. Newbies who show just as much potential will get the spots first.
4. For this round ONLY you will give me your best prewrite, or if you wish, write me a new poem. I don't mind. Do not expect to automatically get a higher chance of winning if you enter a new poem though; I did leave you the choice of entering a prewrite.
5. Left align only and FREE VERSE only. No rhyme. I am not qualified to judge rhyme. I am so sorry if you are disappointed, I truly am.
6. You MUST meet the deadline. Any late entries will lose 10 points PER DAY late. If you enter your late poem after the results/eliminations page has been posted, it will not count. You will still get a zero.
Please do not enter your prewrite yet. I want you to read this if you want to enter. In the long run, this will be benefitial for you.

Many of you want to know "How long will this contest go on for?" And this entire section down below will give you everything you need to know.
This is a general schedule for the contest rounds. The dates will change slightly, but not dramatically.
*
[Phase One] -Predictable
Round One: (Unlimited) December 15th- January 5th.
Round Two (Top 20): January 6- January 13
Round Three (Top 18): January 15- January 22
Round Four (Top 16): January 24- January 31
Round Five (Top 14): February 2- February 9
Round Six (Top 12): February 11- February 18
-jury starts- [jury members are eliminated contestants who vote for the winner at the end]-
[Phase Two] -Somewhat predictable. Many twists + turns.
Round Seven (Top ?): February 20- February 23
Round Eight (Top ?): February 25- March 1
Round Nine (Top ?): March 3 - March 9
Round Ten (Top ?): March 11- March 17
Round Eleven (Top ?): March 19- March 24
Round Twelve (Top ?): March 26- March 30
There will be no 'voting out the contestants' nature in this contest. The judging of this contest will be based on a scoring system done by the judging panel. The panel may consist of myself only, or others who I know 110% that are fair and unbiased. Bias makes me sick- I've been a victim of it too many times (and you probably too have been), so I know how you feel.
The duration of the actual contest will be from January 6th- March 30th : approximately 2 and a half months.
Some of you may go on vacation during the contest, in that event, you would IM a week before you leave, so you can finish next round's challenge [in the event that you would move on] early.
If you choose to quit, there are no hard feelings; but I do lose a lot of respect for you- and I probably wouldn't want you to enter any of my future multi-round contests again. However, I am forgiving, and I have a lot of faith in people; so it is likely that I would give you a second chance.
If you are left with no choice but to drop out, please IM me and just tell me "it is something personal" or if you want to, you can just tell me what happened. "Writers block" is not a legitimate reason to quit. If you are having writers block, at least give me a 5 line poem or something, just so I know for a fact that you didn't give up. It's so much more impressive when people go down with a fight.
Now that you have read this, you know what to do in certain situations and know whether or not you can enter.
If you cannot, then you might want to not read further. If you can, then you should look at how your audition page should go:
1. Enter a prewrite
2. In your notes of your prewrite, give me the following: your screenname, your gender, real first name (i like to identify people by their first names; it's more formal), your age, and lastly what you hope to gain from this contest (just one sentence). *If you fail to include this part [it's either ALL or NOTHING] then I will remove you...no matter what. I encourage you to re-enter and try again though.
Grand prize at the end: 5000 at the least
Other prizes such as points and trophies will be handed out every now and then, but not every round; some rounds will be hosted on columns.
If you have any questions or suggestions please ask or say them down below in the comments section, so others can see.
I want this to be the best contest I've ever hosted.
I value effort, dedication, and passion just as much as I value talent and skill.
Please...make this the best damn contest on AP. And let's show AP what teens can do.
PS. Please send this link to any teenager who you would think would be interested in this contest or may have a good chance of doing well in.

*pokes you*
I'll try to enter, but I don't know how good my writes are gonna be. I'm stressed with school, and have massive ammounts of homework.
Still want me?
Hehe.
-
-
haha
i think it's worth a shot.
i think you will be fine. the hardest part will be the inspiration aspect.
So yes.. I still want you.
-
-
Yay. I = wanted.

*hugggggle*
I miss joo. -
-
Hell yeah.
I've missed you too. =] -
-
You should be on AIM. I'm about to be.
-
-
-
-
-
How come I've never entered one of these before?

This looks like a great contest, and I'll be sure to enter this time!
-
The next season, already
*shrugs* I mase well give it a shot, *crosses fingers in hopes of the alternative thingy* -
-
*tackle*
We hardly ever talk anymore. You and tyler and nate are all not on when I am.

-
-
i know we talk every once and a while on MSN though
-
-
-
Heya! Christmas break for college for this kid... and not only am I considering entering this (because God knows I need something to inspire me) I'm going to invite my roommate to as well!
-
OH!
If you haven't picked judges for this one yet, I'd love to judge
If not then I gots my pen at the ready
-
-
I do need a judge. I'm thinking it will just be me+you that's judging; if not, then one more person- just not sure who would want to...and i hate asking. lol
Yeah, awesomeness.
I'm going to choose the top 20 cast myself, because I'm unsure about letting past contestants in. [they will all make all stars next season anyway] so i want to give newcomers a chance.
So when Round 2 is up, that's when you'll jump in.
Come up with your own rubric...any categories you want... as long as if everything adds up to 100 possible points.
Try to send me your scores ASAP aka within 2 days past the deadline at the latest.
Phew. Got that out of the way.
-
-
Well if Heather doesn't want to enter this round you could ask her, or Wendy
(or I could ask them if you're squeamish
)
I've never used a rubric judging system (I like the idea though) so this will be interesting. -
-
lol Who is Wendy? If she is a teen she should enter. If she isn't a teen, then okay- maybe. I'll give it some time to think about it and I'll let you know what I'm going to do about judging.
-
-
-
-
Oh nevermind I just saw Heather's name in the finalists.
-
-
Not anymore
-
-
Did you drop out or was there a new contestant Tyler preferred?
-
-
i said her poetry was garbage and thew her out of the contest. *evil*
-
-
You little liar,
you'd never say that to Heather.
(Too many people would jump down your throat
)
-
-
lmao

i know. haha
we were talking and decided that she should be a judge.
Me-You-Heather = Powerhouse Panel
-
-
Too right!
This should certainly be an interesting contest
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
im not a teen anymore, good luck with the contest anyway
Good luck to those who enter as well
Cheers!

This one is where we audition?
~Asa of the Pathetically Uncertain Poets of Questioning Askings -
-
Yes.

You audition here. Enter a prewrite. Include your username, first name, age, and what you are looking for in the contest in your notes.
Hope this helps.
