UPDATE: I will be adding new options as I am disappointed with the number of entries I've received. See new options 4, 5, and 6 below.
As 2007 ends, I want you to look back at what you accomplished this year.
Options:
1. Tell me about something you learned this year, whether it was about yourself, other people, society in general, life, etc.
2. Write about an obstacle you faced this year and overcame.
3. Looking forward to 2008, what do you expect (in a positive light)?
4. Speak of something in your past (2007 or before) that you struggled with at the time, but now you look back on it with understanding and acceptance.
5. Use at least 10 of the titles of poems you wrote in 2007 as a word bank and develop it into a new poem. (You can include the titles in your author's notes but it's not required.)
6. I've seen a few contests that ask you to put all your favorite lines into a poem. This is a variation of that. I want you to combine lines (favorite or not) from poems written in 2007 to create a new poem. It does not have to be solely old lines. You can add new lines to make it flow together. (Again, I don't need to know which lines are from previous poems. I'll take your word for it.)
This is my version of option 1: http://allpoetry.com/poem/3716494.
Rules:
- Little to no profanity.
- No erotica.
- No bashing of any kind.
- No epics.
I will open to prewrites, but I want poems written only as early as November 2007, and they must fit the contest or I will remove.
