EAGLE - THE POWER OF THE GREAT SPIRIT

painting credit : http://www.cherokee-indian-art.com/Strength%20and%20Courage%20Close-up.htm

***

At daylight the Great Eagle takes his flight
In freedom to Great Spirit to attune
While Owl and Wolf are guardians of the night
Responding to the prayers to star or moon

If Eagle is your guide upon this Path
Be willing to break free from unknown fear
Unburden heart from anger, grief and wrath
Let boundaries within you disappear

Seek higher ground on which to build your nest
For heart’s home cannot dwell in muddy swamp
Your wings aren’t clipped – it’s time for Vision Quest
Illumination will soon light your Lamp

See beauty in the shadow and the light
Such wisdom makes you soar with Eagle’s grace
Touch Spirit in your inspiration-flight
Expansion seeking in restricted space

When you observe from distance what seems big
Perhaps you’ll pay less heed to joy and grief
That which one day your heart with love may seek
Next day will be released with great relief

Whatever happens, all is for your best
Not what desire sometimes tries to impose
One thing, dear child, remember on your quest
This Path will always be the Way you chose

I am currently waiting for inspiration in order to create a visionary painting intended to illustrate a spiritual story for a magazine called "immortal bliss" ...

in short it is about a man with an eagle-tatoo, who does not leave footprints when he walks, nor does he show up on photographs taken of him, and his encounter with an indian woman-saint (this is a real story)...

I have the intuition that this painting may turn out as a bridge between native american spirituality and the wisdom-tradition of india ...

I "belong" to neither tradition, yet am very sensitive to the spiritual teachings offered by both ...

* please share with me poems about Eagle-Spirit's gifts

* what is Eagle's medicine ?

* reveal to me Eagle's words of wisdom

* if you feel inspired by the scenario of the story, use it in your poem

* any form or style

* enter up to 3 poems

thank you for your inspirations ...

maa, I find it very inspiring that the contour of the Eagle and the Cherokee are the same. I hope, based on that, I can come up with a poem, worthy of inspiring your ceativity.

Marion, the piece you wrote is magnificent...
it speaks to me on an inner level. Letting go
can be so hard and there seems always a moment
it needs to be done. The story too is very
inspiring. I hope to enter here; but if not...
I certainly look forward to reading the other
poets who found inspiration and entered. Blue
