Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on December 12, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes:
Thank you to Nicolette for stepping in and filling some mighty big Al shoes.
This contest was filled with beautiful writing and was incredibly difficult to judge. I am not a fan of honorable mentions but we just had such a difficult time narrowing it down. I think Nicolette would agree the HM's could actually go three more deep-
but that said..
1. jansicle
2. burma shave
3. ariosto
4. rowan
5. transcendental baby
6. truembrace
thank you to everyone.
Mary and Nicolette

been down so long it looks blue to me kind of thing maybe
bluesy woman says she may just enter this one afterall
as she fell through the door of blue men who cart off sad women
to the indigo forest of forgotten relatives,
oh wildmind is the color blue
a wind that blows

Through the blue door... nothing but blue skies... Love this colour series of yours, Mary. I haven't been very creative lately but I might have something blue...

Having read a few of the entries here I don't envy your judging of this one and that being said and my muse God knows where I think I'll refrain from entering this one

primary blues
Painting these cliches
Gets boring,
But the primaries never change.
3 shades of blue
spill across my canvas.
This is Triple Sec heartbreak
and I brought it on myself.
I keep changing angles
but the sun blinds me
from all of them
and I still can't see.
Blurred vision
creates optical discontent
tinted by the knowledge
that if I hadn't poured the salt
I would see just fine.
So cornflower and aqua
are what I settle on
saving midnight for myself,
it was the darkest I could find.
And my vision is still blurred
but the colors are beautiful
like the night stars I wish on
when I think of them.

suzi..
this is so softly blue- in differing tints
your heart sits here- in the stars
in the night
