Calling forth poems about women! They can be written by either a male or female, about a specific lady in mind or about women in general. They can talk about the positives, the negatives, about love, heartbreak, lust, maternal nature, anything you so wish. Make me think and wonder and imagine!
I will allow prewrites, however, I tend to show more favor towards fresh writes because I know that the contest prompted you to stretch your thinking to a subject you may have not written about otherwise.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions, requests, would like a more specific prompt, etc.
Good Luck... I can't wait to read your poems. Give me some good ones!
Here's some quotes that might inspire you. (You don't have to use them for the contest) If one particularily catches your eyes and you wrote a poem out of it, say so in your author's notes!
* Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece. ~Author Unknown
* You start out happy that you have no hips or boobs. All of a sudden you get them, and it feels sloppy. Then just when you start liking them, they start drooping. ~Cindy Crawford
* A man's face is his autobiography. A woman's face is her work of fiction. ~Oscar Wilde
* Every girl should use what Mother Nature gave her before Father Time takes it away. ~Laurence J. Peter
* The two women exchanged the kind of glance women use when no knife is handy. ~Ellery Queen
* Women get the last word in every argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. ~Author Unknown
* Men get laid, but women get screwed. ~Quentin Crisp
* The torment that so many young women know, bound hand and foot by love and motherhood, without having forgotten their former dreams. ~Simone de Beauvoir
