Ever wanted to be a god(dess)? Here's your chance! Choose absolutely anything to be the patron deity of, then write me a poem saying why your thing is great and if possible including some sort of background about your character. Entries from my group "The Cult of Manifest Deities" are very welcome, but I'm also very happy to accept entries from the (so far) unenlightened as well.
Ok, rules (you knew it was coming...)
1. Have fun! That's what poetry is all about, after all.
2. Be as bizarre as you like, but if you're going to write an adult poem please tag it as such for the benefit of younger readers.
3. Although I won't DQ for bad spelling and grammar, taking the time to check your work gets you brownie points
4. I'm not allowing PWs, because I doubt anyone has one suitable
Hints:
I love rhyme, and using it will help. That is not to say I won't consider non-rhyming poems, but rhyming ones have a better chance.
I prefer free verse, and to be honest writing in a fancy form won't impress me because I most likely won't understand it anyway.
Well, half term is coming up so hopefully I'll be able to jude then, even if I use up all my college print credits to print out all the entries to judge at home (my computer SERIOUSLY sucks). Hopefully I'll have results by the end of next week, to post when I return. (Yes, this SHOULD be the final extension. But don't quote me on that)
