In the movie "Going My Way" Bing Crosby and his boy's choir sing a song "Swinging on a Star." You can read the lyrics here
The song depicts various animals that are metaphors for bad choices kids can make. The song has a positive message for kids. That's the kind of poems I want for this contest. Write a poem with a positive message for kids. Be creative and remember your audience is a child.
UPDATE
I've decided to extend the contest hoping to get more than 4 entries.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 30, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Sorry there were not more entries. I did enjoy all of the pieces. I'm sure children will enjoy them as well. Over the holidays I may have my nephews and nieces read.
- To judge this contest, you need to have at least as many finalists as you have rewards. You have 4 awards but only 3 finalists.
