Support Our Troops

Write a poem for the men and women defending our country.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 20, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50
  • Final notes:
Well, I wrote up a big closing message but then it got erased... so I'll just repeat the jist of it and that is this: I was touched by so many of your pieces, especially the stories behind them. I'm proud of our soldiers, but also of their relations (like many of you who entered) who support them in so many ways.

    Thank you ALL for entering.

1st and 2nd were original. They took a different look at the contest that I thought was really great.

3rd may be slightly long, but its message is a good one.

I recommend you read all of the winners.

    Thanks again.

My support for the troops is they come home safely and alive. I think this war is prosperous. Nonetheless I wish you well with this contest. I hope you receive lots of entries.

Soldiers need prayer and support even in a war of regret. War maims spirit, psyche and soul.

    thank you

Thank you for awarding my poem 1st place.
I am honoured to be considered worthy of such considering the excellent poems of other writers in this contest.
My congratulations to the other winners and to all who took part.
    Thank you, again
