- Final notes: if this worked correctly, coronado should be the only remaining poem. the site likes to pretend finalists are gone and then spring them on me after the contest is judged with trophies and all.
as you all probably noticed there were a lot of subpar overly cliche pieces entered. the finalists were worth looking at, but by the end of it all stye and coronado were the only two i felt deserved upwards of 10.000 points. that was the hard part. i wont lie getting it down to those two was easier than i had hoped.
thank you all for your entries. many of them were quite impressive and could have easily won one of those quickie challenges. just not six weeks worth of point savings.

Not taking anything away from Cristina Delaware or EvilKate the authors of the only two pieces that you say are any good, it seems a little off to me that you only commented on a handful of poems out of almost 100, and these two happen to be on your friends list.
I'm not saying that you have been unfair - everyone has different tastes in poetry - it just might appear to others that their efforts were pointless once you recognised your friends writing. -

fair enough. they are my favorites for a reason. they write things that appeal to me. and there were plenty of good pieces, but when there are 14 thousand points on the line, you want to be sure youre throwing them in the right direction.

Congrats to the winner - you had a lot of great entries - so it must have been difficult judging this one. I'm not complaining, just wish that you've commented on my poem - it was on the finalist list and I think it's reasonable to expect that at least a contest host will comment on the poems he thought good enough to be finalist
