Lately, or should I say for the past few years. I've struggled to see a reason to live. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not on the brink of suicide, if that was the case I would be long dead. Though I refuse to give up, it seems I also refuse to accept there can be a reason for me to carry on with it all (hence my screen name) So my challenge to you, oh writers of poetry, show me there's a reason to keep on with it all.
Apologies for the lack of points on offer, and also for the fact that I won't be awarding any HM's, though I'm a new member here and haven't yet mustered enough points to give that many away; with that said, I am offering all but 3 of my points. There are no prompts, other than what I have just said. No specific style, open your mind and let the pen do the work.
The contest will close tonight at midnight (GMT), or before if I get enough entries. The reason for it being so short, I have a dire memory, chances are when I go to bed I will forget by the time I wake up and leave a lot of annoyed people.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 6, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 250, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
Wow, I didn't expect so many entries. Each and every one was something special and they all spoke volumes to me. I think I can see now why I have to carry on: Though my life may not be everything I want, I may not have everything I need and I may not be loved by those I want to be loved by etc, etc. But this IS life, what would be the point of it all if everything was how I wanted it to be?
Thank you all so much for entering, and I hope I commented on everyone, I noticed when it came it judging I had missed someone. If I have missed you, please don't take offense, message me and tell me so and I will comment post haste!
So to sum up, before I rant too much. Thank you all, you're brilliant. I hope no one takes offense to my rankings, because this was a tough one, and more than one person deserved gold. Keep up the good work everyone, and keep the faith! X
