Okay, I've upped the ante a little bit! The points have increased dramatically! The rules and options are the same! The time is just gonna keep on rolling on until I get what I'm looking for! Unfortunately for the wonderful poems that have been written thusfar I have decided to allow prewrites temporarily in hopes of receiving more entries! Spread the word please guys!
For starters, this is my 3rd contest. For those of you who wish to submit, I am a stickler about spelling, punctuation, grammar. So if you want sugarcoated comments, LEAVE NOW! If I see errors, or what I think are errors in your poem, I am not afraid to call you on them! If you don't like this, LEAVE NOW! However, if you are one of the few people on AP who want honest opinions or want to learn from their mistakes... this is the place for you!
I want to thank my AP Pop, Massman for donating points so this contest could be featured and so the winnings could increase! Thanks Pops! :)
Okay, for those of you who don't know what I mean:
The best you can do means I want true attempts of poetry. The style doesn't matter much to me, however there are some limits on what I will read.
Here are my rules:
1. Don't follow the rules, you will receive 1 warning and then you will be Disqualified (DQ)!
2. No suicide, drugs, cutting, or things of this nature. If you are considering writing about suicide, or you submit something about suicide, I will automatically DQ you. I've lost too many friends and family to this and it's nothing worth writing over!
3. No chat talk... u nd 2 lrn 2 rite! u r smrtr thn tht!!! Dnt dgrad urslf! (There are wonderful little things called vowels! USE THEM PLEASE!)
4. NoNe Of ThIs AnNoYiNg CrAp!! It'S pOiNtLeSs!!! If YoU wRiTe LiKe ThIs, YoU hAvE a LoT oF pAtIeNcE!!! I can't stand sticky caps!
5. Profanity is okay in moderation. By moderation I mean that if it takes away from your write in any way, shape, or manner, I will comment only to inform you that your poem is DQ! If you do have profanity, please be sure that your poem is categorized correctly to keep the youngsters on this site from being subjected to it!
6. This is a poetry contest; free writes welcome, just please, no stories.
7. If I get any harassment or immature whiny comments if you have been DQ, then I will inform AP and let them take it from there!
8. I do not require you to comment on others' entries, however, it is the courteous thing to do! :)
9. Please read the whole page, there is one other rule that I require and I will not tell you what it is after warning #1! If I've warned you and you have contacted me, I will give you 1 hint as to what I'm requiring. If you have not corrected in a timely manner, I will DQ you. You've had your warning!
Okay, now that the formalities are done, here are the options you may choose from:
1. Memory from childhood: This can be happy, sad, or even an angry memory. Please describe this memory well. I want to feel like I shared this memory with you. (0 entries in option)
2. Lucky: You've won $1 million in the lottery or obtained it through inheritance. What would you do with the money during your 1st 24 hours as a millionaire? What would be your largest splurge? (0 entries in option)
3. Dark: Anything dark that doesn't pertain to suicide, drugs, or cutting. (2 entry in option)
4. Erotica: This is a topic for adults only! Children under 18 DO NOT ENTER! Also, this is for the novice only, I would like to see your best attempt. Please use your imagination to turn me on. (1 entry in option)
5. Funny: Please, if you've read it out loud and you didn't even chuckle, don't submit it! There is a thin line between funny and stupid! (2 entries in option)
6. Pets: If you've ever entered one of my contests before, then you know I love my pets! Tell me about your pet/pets. What are they? How long have you had them? What do they do that drives you insane? (0 entries in option)
7. Sad: Have you lost someone close to you? Tell me who it was, how you felt when you found out, and how you've managed to cope with the death. (1 entry in option)
8. Love: This is totally different from erotica. Tell me about your 1st love, a past love, or who you currently love. Tell me about the love of your life and how you found each other. If you and your 1st love aren't still together, what went wrong to end the relationship? (4 entries in option)
9. FAVORITE'S LIST: To the few people who reside on my fave's list, topic #9 is for you. I want totally random, off-the-wall, have-to-read-twice-because-it's-worth-my-time poetry! If you submit to this and you are NOT on my list I will warn you once to re-categorize and after the 1 warning I will DQ you no questions asked! (1 entry in option)
10. My Hubby's Topic: I allowed my hubby to come up with one topic for submissions! The topic he chose: VIDEO GAMES Yep, that's right, video games. Describe your favorite video game and why it is your favorite. Good luck with this one! :) (1 entry in option)
11. Picture: I took this picture! :) What do you like/ not like about this pic? How does this image make you feel? Can you imagine being at this place? Imagery, imagery, imagery people! The IMAGE is there, but I want to see the image you have in your head! (0 entries in option)
12. ME: I've been on AP for years.... literally! For those of you who know me, this will be fairly easy, BUT for those of you who don't... good luck and happy research! (0 entries in option)
