On November 11th I will have been part of Allpoetry for a year. I know that is hardly an achievment, but my point is that it has gone by really fast. Really, really fast.
I've met some great people, read some great poetry and hopefully my poetry has improved greatly as well. This is my tenth contest and the only one I have done where your options are endless. I just want poems you have written in the last 12 months. It can be anything but if I don't like it then it won't place. It can have a gazillion trophies or none. It can be in a gazillion contests or none too, I don't care. It can be a gazillion lines long, or none (not sure how
) but I'd prefer something in between.
Feel free to write a new poem between now and the closing date too, if you wish.
I am allowing only one entry per person as this will probably fill up pretty fast.
Oh and no poems that have already placed in my contests.
I should say that I prefer rhyming poetry (if it is done well), but free verse has also started to capture my imagination, only some of it though, so enter what you wish.
Please could you put your name in the Author's Notes. If not, I can still find out, it just takes a bit more time and effort. If you cannot put it in there for whatever reason then just send me a message with your name and poem, I'd really appreciate it.
Oh, prizes will most certainly go up. I have plenty of points, I'm just starting low, just in case the tiny chance that no one enters a good poem happens then I've covered my bases.
Anyway, good luck and thanks for reading.
Take care

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 13, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: Right, I messed up the first time, but I'm going to get it right this time. Hopefully those in second and third places now have points to go with their trophies and the Honourable winners actually have trophies. My mistake! But thanks to the moderators and greeters (thank you so much!) I am able to rectify it.
Right, let's start again. This is going to get complicated so listen close. There are going to be 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 6 Bronze trophies given out for this contest. And 32 Honourable Mentions. This is the most amount of trophies I have ever given out and I will explain why.
I have received some marvellous entries and giving out 47 Honourable Mentions (after the Gold, Silver and Bronze) to so many poems isn't fair because the poems and poets deserve more than that. In total I am giving out 50 trophies. I am going to give them out 8 at a time (apart from the last group which will be 10).
This group up here isn't my top 8. They are in this order so I can give out the trophies correctly.
This means the groups will go as follows (the number shows your overall position):

Take care everyone, sorry for the confusion and me messing up and just making it worse!

Congratulations on your impending allpoetry birthday! You prompted me to reflect how I felt upon my first "birthday" and how I feel as I approach my second. We only have so much time,it's all a balance of what we need to do and wish we could do whilst actually doing what we do and to spend time creatively within our poetic community is cause for celebration
Am pleased this contest is totally open, wrote two poems earlier that just came to me and not from a contest prompt so hope to post one later into this contest.
Good luck with this, you certainly have a lot of entries already!
-
-
Thank you for your comment, I look forward to reading your entry

I am probably going to regret saying enter anything and leaving it to unlimited entries! Especially since I'm getting a lot of work at the moment
Take care x -
Yepp, definitely regretting it at 40+ entries already!
-
-
Shall I call Raker too and make this competition hard??!!!
lol, but then I might lose

Heylo
There are some great free verse poems in this contest. Read foot in both and Rainbows in Shades of Grey. And while you're at it read L'amour est Comme a Monté – I think it's awesome
-
-
this is completely unfair - you've already commented on ALL of my poetry.
-
-
Find one I haven't commented.
Or I will comment again.
Just so long as it's not one I have given a trophy then it's ok!
-
-
Congrats and I'll see what I can find

-
You are very generous in acknowledging so many poets. Even taking the time to read and comment on all these poems is a monumental task.
Thanks for acknowledging my work.
-
-
Aye there were so many good poets that I couldn't not acknowledge them! Hehe. Yeah reading and commenting was hard work but on one day it did help me earn a silver membership
