Ok, bear with me here. I would like you to pick one letter of the alphabet, and write a poem in which all the words begin with the same letter (not just the same sound). Recognizing the need for occasional transitions and pronouns and such, you can use a maximum of 10 other words that don’t begin with your chosen letter. I know what you’re thinking… no good poetry can come of this. But I believe you fine poets can create beautiful art even under this totally unreasonable and arbitrary restriction.
Rules:
1. No restriction on length, but shorter is probably better under the circumstances. At least 30-40 words.
2. Words must begin with same letter (not just same sound)
2. No fair misspelling words to make them fit (e.g. kat)
3. Poem should make sense, and not just sound like a list of random words strung together
4. Maximum of 10 words can be included that don't begin with the chosen letter.
This will be judged Saturday night.
I look forward to reading your creative entries!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 3, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 9 people
- Final notes: Elegant, eerie, exclamatory, ethereal,
each effort expertly expressed,
a plethora of pleasingly penned poetry.
Determined to decide this difficult dilemma,
I waffled, wearily wondering ,
wowed by what wonderful
ornate options were opportunely offered.
So I had to hand out heartfelt honors
to validate the vast value of all these varied verses.
Thanks, everbody!

I have a poem to enter but I don't understand the poem can't start with the letter u chose is this how it goes for instance.
(A) hungry hound hunts; hopping high hoarding hotdogs.
is this what you mean by not starting with the same letter -
-
Yes, "A happy hound hunts hopping hungrily hoarding hotdogs" is fine, all the words start with the same letter "h" except for the "A" can be one of the maximum 10 words that start with a different letter. Thanks for asking, look forward to your entry!
