I won Gold in Markgrif's contest PIF Quickie 10/10/10
http://allpoetry.com/contest/2376268
So now I am hosting one. It will end Sat evening. I am making it a longer contest because I want you to choose a mythhilogical God or Goddess and write about them. Why? My poem which won was based on Echo and Narcisus. Therefore it is fitting. You can also write about any other figures in Greek/Roman/Hindu/asian mythology. This contest will be anonymous, so in your authors notes please say so.
Rules:
1) One entry each
2) left allign
3) leave a small description/history of who the poem is about
4) imagery and poetic devices a MUST
5) I prefer freeverse, but if you use rhyme, make it GOOD
OK, that's it. I cannot say you HAVE to comment on one another's poems, but it is nice to do. Besides, you get to check out your competition that way.
Have fun, and gett penning!
OH, and of course, winner hosts next PIF contest.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 19, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 350, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: This was a tough one to judge. I think I dragged these poems around so much they all have cyber rugburn!!! However I am glad to say I was pleased and punch with every entry. It is sad I only have so many trophies to award. However you are all gold in my opinion, and all Gods/Goddesses as well. Blessings be to you all and my many thanks!

Lovely contest page and theme, Billie Jean. I'll bookmark but don't know if I'll be able to write something as I have a very very busy week ahead of me - but I'll try!

I'd think about this ...
but there's no time, and I've already done it several times. I don't usually redo what I've already done.
Good luck with your contest in any case. -

If you change your mind I extended it and opened it to prewrites. Thank you either way for the kind comment.
