I won Cupcrazy's quote inspired overnight semi quickie, and though I am under no obligation to do so, I’ve elected to PIF. (I've also upped the points!) It would be nice if the winner would PIF.
Most people know Oscar Wilde to be an inappropriately witty flaming poof who occasionally said the sorts of salacious things you wish you’d said at parties. (saying so is a benefit of membership!)
He also said some damned insightful things, if a tad obvious now and again.
The quote I’ve selected for inspiration follows closely on the heels of the contest I won, and is somewhat related:
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.
- Oscar Wilde
I don’t want anything obvious.
Read the quote… let it sink in a while, and follow your meandering thoughts to wherever it takes you, and write a poem about THAT, not about the quote necessarily.
That’s it no rules, but a couple of pointers:
- By entering my contest, you are asking me to read, and judge your poetry. I will comment on each and every entry, and I will be honest.
- I don’t really like Rhyme. I abhor bad rhyme.
- Overly religious pieces are likely raise my ire.
- If you use centred alignment, you will not win. Period.
- If your background gives me a brain hemorrhage, you will not win, and I will haunt you from the grave.
- If I can’t read it, due to spelling, grammar, background, animation, text colour, punctuation, 1337 $p33k, etc. you won’t win.
Contest closes after 10 entries, or tomorrow sometime.

Thank you very much for the Gold! Was shocked to say the least (anything I get becomes a shock these days!).
