--> This is NOT a quickie!!!
I have just watched the movie "Pay It Forward" for the first time, and I was so impressed! I truly love the story and I just have to do a contest about it!
http://www.payitforwardfoundation.org/
This is the website of the Pay It Forward Foundation... There you can get some more of an idea what this is all about.
Basically, it means that you do three people a (big) favour and instead of paying it back, they will pay it forward to three other people. This way, the idea was spread very far...
The young genius who introduced Pay It Forward to All Poetry is called Ellie, her name on here is little-hug. It's already been quite some time sice she did her first PIF contest with the goal of spreading love among us AP poets. Later on, I won bronze (I think) in a PIF hosted by poetess Marion (maa), so the first contest I have ever hosted was called "Pay It Forward (My first contest)"!
I hope you are not bored by reading all this.

I would like you to write beautiful, heartfelt poems inspired by the book by Catherine Ryan Hyde, the movie or just the idea of paying it forward.
I will give at least 300 points to each of the three winners of this contest, and maybe even more, depending on my amount of points at the time of judging...
And I would love you to pay it forward by doing a contest like this one if you win!
BUT OF COURSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO!
The rules should be obvious...
No dark, adult, swearing etc...
One entry per writer.
This is probably going to be my last contest, as I do not agree with the changes that have been made on here recently...
Good luck and have fun!
Annie

A poet on here that calls herself little hugs began this movement of pay it forward long ago. It was originally based on the movie. To enter you had to write a poem to honor someone on here or in your life. Since then the pif as become to just hold a whatever contest. It's nice to see it brought back to the original.

I didn't mention that?

Don't know why I forgot it, on my earlier "real" PIF contests I always mentioned it, because little-hug gave me the idea...

Hi Annie!
Yay! I feel sooo blessed that people even remember my contests. Pay it Forward inspires me so much and I just wanted to share that with AP. It makes my heart soo happy to see more and more people hosting Pay It Forward contests.
The book and film cannot help but touch the heart. Lots of luck with this beautiful contest !!

I love the idea of paying favors and good deeds forward!
What a wonderful concept... doing good to others and sending the goodness forward.
We should all do that, every day, among our family and friends.
A wonderful contest, Annie!

Hey Mel, won't you enter this contest? I only have two entries though my contest's been running for two weeks...

It's depressing...
And what's just coming to my mind... I gave the English "translation" of my pig latin poem to my former English teacher (who's also my school's advisory teacher as I've maybe told you before)... She asked me if she had to worry about me now once again...
I know it wasn't really that funny, but ohmygosh, I couldn't stop laughing when she said that...
I know I'm weird...

What a lovely contest.I noticed the comments re the original poet and the original movie et al and it reminded me of when I posted a poem entitled Pass it on which had been written years before,a poet asked why no original thought as it was a movie,I had never seen the movie and after tracking down the year it was made yep,my poem was written years before,I guess none of us can be certain who had the thought first, just who first noticed the thought.I like to believe that just as there have always been bad people passing on negativity that there have always been people that are good and passing on positivity and the essential thing is that the cycle of goodness is in continuum...
Good luck with this,am bookmarking but just read what may well be the winning entry already,it was splendid!

when does it end?:{.*gombah*

Don't know for sure yet... I'm still hoping for more entries...

And someone promised to enter tomorrow... So I'll extend it for a little while...
Or would you also like to enter? Then I'll leave it open for some more time if you like.

I didn't like the movie; I thought it was sad. I go to movies to be entertained, and not get more depressed. I like the theory of paying it forward but hope it isn't a selfish thing. People doing good in the hope that it will come back to them like a boomerang. Call me a cynic I guess. I'd like to enter but my muse hasn't been around for awhile. I hope you get lots of entries
