Doctor's Office
We want to see what you see what you see
and feel what you feel
and worry about your worries
while you are at the doctor's office.
If your worries are a million miles away- that is fine. But we want to feel as though we are taking in the sights and sounds of the doctor's office even while thinking about something a million miles away. We want both images.
And if all you can think of is your pounding headache- then describe the noises and lights that are pounding it further.
Get the idea? good!
We want to feel as though we are inside your head while you wait.
Rules:
This does not have to be epic. It can be a snapshot moment.
No end line rhyme
Left align
monochromatic background
no pictures please
Gill and I both appreciate a sparse use of adjectives and a brevity of language.
We also appreciate the use of metaphor, imagery and alliteration.
We both value creativity in both language and concept.
We both appreciate a fine editing process before posting. Please, in the interest of quality do not post immediately.
Feel free to tweak right up until judging commences.

Enter office, check the clock, then time how long it takes to get in.. so the next time I can factor in the waiting time and be late

I hate waiting.. especially at the doc's office, which reminds me I had probably the worst waiting experience to date on Friday... maybe I should write about that.... yeah I think I will!

This contest looks really interesting, unusual topic to focus on.

well my boss is strongly urging me to cancel my doctor's appointment for tomorrow and go sit in emerg today... perhaps... i can spend hours upon hours coughing with a mask over my face looking like a dork in the triage area while i wait...
-
I'm missing something here. When I play "doctor," I don't worry or have any worries -- well, once in a while there might be mild performance anxiety, but only if the nurse outfit suggests there might be a shot included with the night's events...
