The Ultimate Sophistication

As much as I love beautiful, ornate poetry adorned with adjectives and poetic devices, I've been craving simplistic poetry lately.

Simplistic poetry does not mean short (there is no line limit). Simplistic poetry means finding beauty or deeper meaning in the most ordinary things in life.

- No profanity or erotica (I don't see how they'd fit)
- No line limit
- No prewrites
- You may enter up to three times, if you'd like
- I can't promise immediate comments; I am rather busy these days. But I promise to comment eventually.
- It's polite to comment other people's entries
- Points and places will go up with good entries
- I will warn you if you've violated the rules, or if your entry doesn't fit. If you haven't fixed the problem by the time I judge it, I will DQ, sorry.

Here are some quotes, if you need inspiration:

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life. ~John Burroughs

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction. ~E.F. Schumacker

To poke a wood fire is more solid enjoyment than almost anything else in the world. ~Charles Dudley Warner

You may also use the picture for inspiration. It is from deviantArt by babyducks.

Nature writes would certainly not be out of place. Of course, you don't have to write about nature, either.

I hope to get really good entries. Give me your best!

The entries were all fantastic. I'm sorry I couldn't give more HM's, because you guys definitely deserved them.
