This is our 1st collaboration contest run by myself and Suzanne Dia - read her, is so good it's evil!
The picture above is by Suzi and is titled "Crossroads"
The polite poet would acknowledge that in notes *happy*
Use it for inspiration, taking note of both image and title. Anyone who names their poem 'Crossroads' will suffer dire consequences and unleash the fearful aspect of 'POETRAGE' - nobody wants to see that, least of all us.
Explore; Think; Write!
We're pretty hard to offend, but if there is a way - bad poetry is it!
We hope to find excellence - is you don't think you can write such ... move along :)
There are big points here, so bring your best dress to this ball or we ain't dancing with you!
*And if your a favourite of either of us, you can so write excellence, so in here now!* :D

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 21, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 1800, Silver: 1200, Bronze: 600, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: First: Thank you all for being patient with the judging delay.
That said, this was an incredibly difficult task. Both Suzi and I had issues sorting the placings, for everyone was so worthy. The calibre and range of talent on display here was staggering. From abstract to gritty conversation, it had it all.
If you did not make the finalists, do not lament - there were several entries that sat on the edge, indeed - they only slipped out because of the depth of talent present. We had to have a cut-off point somewhere. Deciding where was very difficult.
Given that - you might imagine the task of placements.
Gold was wonderful and unanimous. The conversational tone, with well pared language, framed a metaphor of wonder - with a finish that was neither cliched nor simple.
Silver was a richly woven work, that combined minimalism of language with rich metaphor and imagery. The depth of metaphor is what raised it to both judges sight.
Bronze was a wonderful combination of varied line lengths; rich language and vibrant depth. The whole just 'hovered' and had a stark gritty end of love feel throughout. Yet, managed to framed it all in such fragility.
Separating Silver and Bronze was a little contentious. Not between the judges, but within them. There is not even a hair between these entries.
Then 4th is barely that far below 3rd and it is the same all the way done the list. Well done all.
Another day, the order could be different again. But, here we are at this day. Delayed but - to have been gifted the honour of reading all this, the wait was worth it (for the judges - at least).
Thank you all again.

Yay.

I'll bookmark this right now!
-
-
As long as you enter - otherwise the bookmark is silly!
-
-

i might see if i can rustle up something for it -
Can we do a collaboration for this? And if yes, do we need to state who with for you in authors notes - as it is anon?

A Collab is fine ... not author notes though - just add them after judgement is finished

Cool bananas

[p.s your cute as a bumble bee or a butterfly]

I mean caterpillar
-
-
Hrmmm. So what? - that makes me a bumblebutterfly?
-
-
Well I did mean as a caterpillar that turns into a butterfly, as really they are both the same creature - just forms into itself when it grows more.
So really, you are just cute - not evil and there is nothing you can do about it...
mwhahahaha.....

*runs&hides* -
-
Have you learnt nothing ... the universe does not work like that hun. You can run OR hide ... never both
-
-
I didn't say at the same time
-
-
Hah. Well that is silly then. I mean, if you hide then running breaks the hiddenness
Sheeesh
-
-
What if I run to hide
Then I win
-
-
Uhuh. Indeedy hun - you are, in that case, such a winner

Now I feel *special*

Wow. This is a surprise. Jenny would have never guessed she would walk home with the gold one day...
