Go ahead... scare me! I may be a woman but I can take it. LOL
I want IMAGINATION to the max. I want something that's going to keep me awake at night. I want major SUSPENSE.
Cemetaries on a fog filled night, don't-open-that-door, wandering ghosts in an abandoned house on the hillside, a psycho turned loose in a quiet, quaint little town kind of stuff. BUT... without all the old cliches of bad rated movies.
I don't want to read about Hatchet Harry slicing and dicing his way through Montana. Give me something more substantial than that or don't enter. Vampyra is fine, IF you can do it well, if not, don't waste my time or yours.
If I don't get enough entries, I'll close the contest completely. You have plenty of time here so don't rush.
No line limit. Story form or poems... choose your own poison. Whatever works best for you.
If you want to toss in some erotica within the scenes, that's fine too but I don't want it to be the main focus.
The occasional cuss word is fine but overkill does nothing for the imagination and shows a lack of one's ability to use the vast amount of language at our disposal.
Keep a tight rein on the spelling and punctuation. And break up the paragraphs with a space between them please. Give your work some class.
Don't use a lot over oversized, under-used words. That doesn't impress me and kills a storyline. Write it as if you were telling it.
As always, categorize your work appropriately, follow site rules and have fun.
NOTE: Show me some REALLY good stuff and I'll up the points.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 19, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 6 people
- Final notes: Judging this was literally a matter of pulling names from a hat because you all did such a wonderful job of giving me exactly what I wanted that you left me quite stumped as to how to judge this. I can honestly say that in MY eyes, you are ALL winners and you gave me 100% which was a delight in and of itself. Again, thank you all for making this a VERY successful contest.

Now this sounds like a challenge, let me make an entry in my diary; I might just come back here. I've had an idea floating around inside my head for some time just waiting for a Texas victim

Thanks.
Hopefully one day I'll have enough time to draw the story out more.
