Colors...

I won Ten Thousand Cicadas' All -day Quikie,

http://allpoetry.com/poem/3487350

thank you Ten, and I am honored to host this contest. I simply ask the Gold Award Winner to consider hosting a similar contest based upon having time and interest.

The theme is Colors and the challenge is to write in a way that will show things to the reader [ by use of imagery, senses, descriptions, metaphor and action words] rather than telling things to the reader.

Example:

Telling - at sunrise the sky was bright yellow

Showing - I felt the warmth of the rising Sun on my face

[There is a column on AP by Kevin on show vs. tell]
