Okay, guys, I need some serious perspective. I feel like I'm not appreciating my life enough. I need some heartbreak sob stories and sadness.
OPTIONS
Option #1
Something that happened to you or someone close to you. (true story)
Option #2
Something that happened to someone you sort of know/knew but not really, and because this thing happened you wish/hope you knew/could know them better. (true stories preferred)
Option #3
Something that you KNOW happens in this world and that you'd like to stop. (can be fictional or true)
Option #4
A FICTIONAL narrative of something that happens in the real world that you wish wouldn't happen. (Must be a poem, though)
OVERALL
Topics that hit me hard that you might use:
*Rape (see rules)
*War
*Death in war
*Murder
*Poverty
*Death by car accident (this one's major, since my friend's sister was killed being hit by a car)
...or a lot of other things.
I REALLY REALLY need you to give me a subtle message about how these things are tragic and should be stopped, but how lucky it is that these things don't have to happen to everyone.
RULES
1. All must be poems.
2. The topic of rape is allowed, but don't get too graphic. I don't want erotica.
3. No fanfiction. I shouldn't have to say this, but...
4. Typos are okay, but chatspeak and sticky caps are not.
5. For narratives, happy endings are okay, as long as the essential theme isn't all happy-special-la-la.
6. Controversial themes are fine. Just make sure you're not voicing your opinion in such a way that it becomes offensive.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 10, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 800
- Final notes: This was a hard contest to judge. Each of the ten entries illustrated a topic that this world is unlucky to have. The pain they transmitted was very real. I congratulate all of you on the courage it took you all to voice your griefs and fears.
Thank you to all of you. Your poems not only increase awareness, but put into perspective these events for those who haven't had them happen to them. Thanks again for entering.
