This contest is only for those who have won a trophy in a Contest by these rules only:
1. They have won a Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Honorable Mention.
2. It's a poem.
3. It's shown on your poem.
Meaning: that you (or anyone else) didn't remove the poem from the contest after you placed. I have to see the trophy next to the contest at the bottom of your poem.
Subject: Any
What I will do:
I will comment on every single entry entered. Even if I have nothing to say, I will leave a comment that says this:
"This is a _____ poem you have written here."
(the space is nice, good, great, excellent, lovely, etc.,)
I know it's generic, but, people seem to think that a comment is better than no comment at all even if they place in the top 3.
When I judge a contest during and after I keep a list of those I like, and what I feel they would place in the Contest.
If I receive entries that tie for first place, and take up the first 3 top trophies (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and there are still some I felt were good enough for Gold, they will receive an automatic HM worth 100 points.
Silver and Bronze will have points, and the Gold points may rise. This is depended on the amount of entries I receive for this contest, and the amount of points I have left over from judging the current 3 contests I have on my author page.
Have fun!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 18, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 500, Bronze: 250, Honorable mention: 15 people
- Final notes: Well, this was an arduous contest. I commented on all entries except those that
didn't follow directions, I either commented on those and removed them, or just
removed them.
I only thought 4 entries were deserving of Gold, so the one that got an HM will receive an additional 70 points in awhile.
The rest who placed in HM's were those that I considered for 2nd & 3rd place. All entries placed are in order to what I liked best to not-so-best. (don't want to say worst)
I actually did use the cliché comment I stated I was going to make, and I really didn't want to but I did say I would, so I did.
I think only 2 or 3 people removed their own entries, and I removed 3 myself.
I read most of the entries offline, to set up a first-impression, and to tell myself what I felt they deserved in the matter of a trophy in my contest, based on my opinion of their entry.
32 entries made the list. I dwindled that down to 18 entries, and the entries that are in the finalists are all in order to what I felt was the best, and so on.
The entries that were on the original list; doesn't mean what they wrote was any less than what it was to begin with but on a second read (sometimes more) it just didn't cut the grade with those that stayed on the list.
I still have the "Gold Trophy" contest, so, enter that. And I also have the "homonym" contest, I'd hate to delete that contest for lack of entries.
Thanks,
Nam

Yay! Prospect for me! Bookmarking, I still have time to think about which poem to choose.
-
Wow. I read through a handful on entries. All I can say is... wow. If the normal bunch who enters your contests show, I'll not have a chance in hell. But for now... wow.
-
What if the piece has more than one trophy???
-
-
As long as it has won at least one trophy.
-
-
Uh eh? bleh. Thanks man.
-
-
-
you realize this thing is going to take forever to trawl through right?
-
-
Only if you've read the entries, which I did for about 45 of them offline.
-
-
how many times can one enter?
-
-
If you can't do it with one entry, I would suggest not entering at all. Plus, the contest only allows one entry.

Thank you so much for the HM and the recognition. All the best-

I can't believe I placed in a contest that Scott A. was also in. I think that's the first time. Maybe the tides are turning? Maybe I'm getting better? Or he's getting worse? Or maybe Nam was not in his right mind?

Thanks for the mention.
