welcome to another DARK contest! my 36th on this site. since this is october, the month for tricks or treats, i decided to take a picture i like and let you write about it. it can be tricks or treats or even both.
picture prompt.
not sure where i took this from, but it has been such a long time ago. i love this picture and possibly there will be a few poets on here that share my feelings. even though you may have a very different approach to how you see her.
write about the picture. i don't care how you do it or at any angle or approach. you have the freedom to make it any way you want it done.
guess itz time for some rules.
1. no pre-writes (if i did this, it wouldn't be a personal invitation to a contest from theDARK1. to clarify this statement; i never allow prewrites and this makes it a personal invitational to all to write fresh).
2. one entry per poet.
3. you must meet the requirement as listed in the body of the contest.
4. closing date will be at the end of october 2007 time frame(24-31)!
5. i will comment on every entry (it could be during or after the contest closes for judging).

- Rewards: Gold: 336, Honorable mention: 7 people
- Final notes: people, people, people! actually, it should be poets. i wasn't going to do this and by that i mean give out honorable mentions. everyone of you forced me into by your writing. this is what a host always strives for, but rarely ever gets; every entry a quality write! my philosophy has always been quality over quantity. i have reviewed each poem more than once as of me typing this. then i put them all in order by appearance and added seven honorable mentions. as of this moment, i have yet to cast my final ballot of placing the top three. i will not put the others in order of precedence since every entry was a quality one. itz hard enough just trying to narrow it down to three. be more than proud of your write for this is not an ez contest to judge. will be back possibly with my verdict even though it will be close whoever gets the top three trophies.

i'm hoping no one is discouraged from the placing for it was a difficult task to judge this contest. i may not have another one for awhile for it was so stressful. on the other hand, it makes me want to have three at the same time if i could somehow get poets like all of you to enter for you make it hard on a host with such quality writing. i will have to admit this has been one of the toughest contests for me to judge by far. if all of you only knew how hard you made it, i'm guessing you wouldn't want to be in my shoes. congrats to everyone and thanx for making this one of my best and toughest contests to judge. i'm anxious to see the names once i get this posted. i will have to put everyone of you on my faves list (of course unless you're already there), DARK.
