What is lovely never dies,
but passes into other loveliness,
star-dust, or sea-foam, flower or winged air.
~ Thomas Bailey Aldrich

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 7, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 600, Silver: 300, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes:
Both Robin and I were impressed with the entries and there were at least 5 other poems that were trophy worthy but we had to draw the line somewhere. Congratulations to everyone of you and thank you for your support. We would also like to mention “Sunshine” for the improvements she made on the poem – thank you for being so positive about our suggestions – that truly is the spirit!
My thanks also to Robin (Lyrical Soul) for her valuable input as co-judge. You were great and it was wonderful to see how similar our choices were!
Gold to “For the living:”
Silver to “Etchings”
Bronze to “Sculpting”
The HM’s in no particular order.
Thanks again, poets!

That quote reminds me of the law of conservation of mass; mass is not created or destroyed, it only changes form. oh lord, now i'm relating science to poetry. maybe i should take a break for awhile. lol.
good luck with the contest. -
-
Poetry is a science...so you're right on target here

-
sigh......
-
-
Sigh a poem, Mary....
-
-
i have an opening line for a poem. but i'm guessing nothing that starts "piss and blood clumps .... " would be a poem for this contest?
-
-
LOL!!! But knowing you, I won't be surprised if you turn "piss and blood clumps" into something lovely!!
-
-

Nicolette, you have a univeral one-ness with the seeking of and the revealing of the depths of the beauty of love, you and Lyrical Soul are encouraging and inspiring Love and Light, which is a pleasure and priviledge to discover and uncover.I shall bookmark to read some of the beauty that you inspire

-
And you, Yvette, are one that sees and appreciates beauty, love and light too - thank you so much. Hope to see you here
-
-
now why can't i be more socially acceptable and leave nice messages like that? you ever ask yourself that?
-
-
Hmmmm....I know you're a "water mary"...perhaps you shouldn't focus too much on the word "passes" in the quote
-
-
LOLOLOL or maybe that's the way to tie it all together..

-
Fifty words isn't very many lol. Great idea, I'll have to see if I can come up with something slim for this one.
