What Do You Have To Say For Yourself?

SECOND UPDATE: Writing a bio that would appear in the back of a literary magazine means it should be 1-4 lines long, not a poem and not even an in-depth autobiographical page. Please see the link I provide below with examples or read some of the first entries to see what is being advised.

UPDATE: I've decided that the one thing I really do want to hear in these bios is where you're from and where you are. Thanks again.

*******************************************************************************************************************
write a brief bio about yourself or someone else on AP who you know and want to promote.

>>>Write it as if you were submitting it to a literary magazine.<<<

If you have questions about that, IM me. I am putting together a collection of poems and photos about the World Wonders right now and it seems that people are sometimes unsure of what to write in a short bio, for such a group collection.

Here is a link to a bunch of examples, including my own (most recently updated) bio: http://www.rpwriters.com/authorbio.html

Notice how they can be written in first or third person but the important thing is they tell you something about the author that you would not necessarily get from reading their poems, stories or columns.

It should be fun to get to know some of you this way. (You don't have to use your real name - your screen name is fine.)

Enter as many times as you want!

Thanks.

  • Final notes:
Thanks so much for coming into this short bio workshop; I enjoyed getting to know all of you through this and though some of the entries were really interesting and informative, like Lane's and Starswhispers, I picked the winners based on either their shortened versions after critiquing or their original, which was in accordance with what I was asking for in the contest, lengthwise.

haha I'm so awful with writing a bio about myself. But I'll see what I can do. If I don't get it into to the contest do you mind if I send it to you in a message?
