Missing / Longing in 5 lines!

Hello all!
Here's another contest from me

In this contest, I want you to write about missing someone. To be longing to be with someone. How does it feel? What do you usually feel and do?
That feeling is usually quite easy to write about, but here's the catch - you have to do it in no longer than 5 lines, which means simple and to the point. Up for the challenge?

Send me a message if you have questions.

Rules:
- No bashing of other poets and their work.
- Don't get angry with me, if you don't like my comments.
- You can enter as many times as you want, but if you do so, you must put the names of your other entries in your author notes.
- Try to comment on the other entries.
- Try to stay anonymous – I like it that way.
- No chat speak.
- No dirty pretty.

I will try to comment on all work, but I will not applaud any.

Have fun!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on October 8, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
Wow! What a contest! So here go my thoughts...
I actually think that all of the comments that I’ve given your poems sound the same, because you all managed to do great rhyming (those who did that), great rhythm, great wording and all of you seems to master the beauty of simplicity. And you all brought out those feelings of missing and longing, just like I asked. And I guess that’s because we all know what it’s like to be missing something, whether it’s a thing, an animal or a person. I cannot tell you how hard this was to judge. I’ve been sitting here rereading your poetry over and over again, and constantly narrowing down the preliminary finalists. After a long time I ended up with 8 poems that, to me, stood out from all the other 41 entries. They truly blew me away, and I felt that they deserved a trophy. There’s gold, silver, bronze and of course honourable mentions. The HM’s are in no particular order. The winners are:

    Gold: Afterlife by Everlasting-Fallout
    Silver: Missing You by Bazza
Bronze: Tomorrow Is Always Closer by Dmonik

    HM:
    - Love In A Locket by vjlvenus
    - Touch Me… Again by Endeavor
    - Wish You Were Here by highwaytraveller
    - Sweet Impressions by Touchof1der
    - On The Shelf by Remlek

    Congratulations to the winners!
I want to thank you all for making this contest happen. You all have amazing talent – you should all be awarded.
