It was all in a dream ~
A vision that he saw,
A small boy in a distant hill..
Conversing with Him in the picture
Who sat beneath a Neem tree;
"You look old, Do You know Your age?"
the boy asked, as ignorant as ever..
"What! Do you say I am old!
Just run a race with Me and see",
Came the reply, from a voice so clear,
Fresh and soft,
Yet piercing the darkness of the night
Which was music to the ear..
And then they raced
With the small boy behind..
While the Other disappeared in the dust raised by His own foot-steps..
And the boy awoke ~
He found it was all a dream..
Write what the tale above speaks to you, what it means to you..
Does the picture look familiar by any chance.. Look carefully.. like a vague vision in some long ago dream.. ??

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 12, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 500, Bronze: 500, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes:
Thank you all for your entries. It was tough judging as everyone seem to have written so very well and philosophical. I should have instead made this a 'voting' contest, where I could have decided better, for it was really tough for me to.
Anyways, may God bless you all and thank you very much for the time taken to pen such brilliant poetry here. They are all worthy of mention.

This contest has dramatic dimensions
of mysticism and metaphysics when we take the words and the delightful picture into account, together. We should all thank Raspberry for the thought put into this contest.
