Fiction Inspired

Ok... basically I've been having a really bad mental block lately when it comes to writing poetry (you're probably thinking 'that's normal' but still...)

anyway, all i would like you all to do is:

1. think of a book you've read.
2. put the name, author, and a synopsis of the book in your author's box.
3. write a poem related to the book - however i want the relation to be obvious. for example, write a Lord of the Rings based epic poem, or a Japanese love poem (if you were to be inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha)... whatever. just make sure it isn't a vague link - i want to be able to see it, even if i haven't read the book myself.

1 rule:

Fictional writes only!

i think that's it

(oh, and if you could find a link with a picture and blurb of the book, that would be awesome)

I don't understand what you meant by me not understanding what you meant by this contest. I matched everything to your specifics, this is basically what happened in the book I read.
