Show me through your poetry what kind of person you are. Why do I want to get to know you? Why would I choose you for my AP Family? Let me know you by reading a poem. I realize it is difficult to do in just one poem, but put your best foot (hand?) forward & try! There are some wonderful people out there, & I'd like to get to know a few of them. I'd give out more points if I had them, simply because of how difficult this contest can be. Sorry about that, folks.
*Note: Twin Sister has already been taken, since she is my best friend in real life, by MissLady (Ann, you can enter, but probably won't win a trophy, since you're already in my AP Family - but you can help with the contest!).
Positions are:
Dad (Gold)
Mom (Silver)
Brother (I'd prefer a big brother, but I can go with a little one, too) (Bronze)
Aunt (Green)
Uncle (Green)
1. No STiCkY cApS - Auto D/Q
2. No Cussing - I'm a Christian
3. NO Erotica (although I don't see how you can work such into this, but just in case) - Auto D/Q
4. Don't make it so complicated that a rocket scientist has to figure it out.
5. Be Yourself!!!
6. Use English...American or proper, but also use spell check. If your poem has too many mistakes, you get one chance to fix it. If I have to ask you to fix it more than once, I'll disqualify you.
7. I don't care if you use rhyme or free-verse - I do both - but make it good...don't try to rhyme foot with boot (get the idea?).
8. NO Bashing OF ANY KIND - Auto D/Q
9. Have FUN & Enjoy!!!!!

The Picture
That's my beloved, crazy, wonderful aunt with her 3 grandkids. I'm so close to my aunt, I love her as if she's my mom. & in this case, "aunt" sounds exactly like "ant"...there's a difference when you come from the south!

You have such beautiful children and a handsome family. I have sent my little brother your contest link. I think you'll like him.
Good luck with your contest. Patricia

that's my aunt with her grandkids, & thank you. i love all the poems entered so far, & there are no rivals for the different positions as of yet, but i know it will be a very difficult one to judge. the ones entered are so good! -
A Note To All
I want all of y'all to know that my nearly 18 year old sis is going to have her baby within the next week. Most likely, this will impede my ability to get online & judge the poems entered. I ask that y'all be patient with me, as I will judge them as soon as possible (& if I get no more entries, it's automatic placement for the current ones). I'll also keep everyone posted on how my sis & newest nephew are doing, as soon as he's born. -
Why Choose?
When it comes to family,
why should you pick and choose?
Everyone seems so nice,
there is no way you can loose.
Love is flowing from each pen
they all can fill a need
The contest is a success
Makes me want to believe
That life, isn't to be alone
Need help to cush the fall
The entries here are all good
Think you should take them all! The Shaker -
