Poems express feelings and situations with the greatest economy of words. Come on in and hone/show off your skill!!
I want poems that snatch an emotion from a moment in time like nimble hands capturing a butterfly in mid-flight. Think you're up to the task? If so, THIS CONTEST IS FOR YOU!!!
********************RULES**************************
1. The title of your piece must be the one-word name of the emotion you are describing BUT it must ONLY appear in your author's comments section. (This is to help you gain feedback as to how well you actually depicted your emotion. If readers can identify your emotion before reading your author's comments, you portrayed it well. If not, you may want to try again, thus honing your talent for expression.)
2. The body of the work must contain EXACTLY ten words to describe the feeling you have chosen. (This is to help you hone your talent for brevity and word selection.)
3. All poems must be submitted on plain background. (This is to prevent "that otherwise perfect image" from giving away what your words are supposed to relay.) You may use any color background or font, but NO pictures!
************************************************
Use whatever style suits you! If you need sticky caps or chat-speak, rhyme or free-verse, etc. to get your point across, power to your creativity!!
You may enter as many times as you like, but you may only win a single prize. Speaking of prizes:
First Place /Gold Trophy/50 points per word!
Second Place /Silver Trophy/10 points per word!
Third Place /Bronze Trophy/7.5 points per word!
PLEASE: Read and let other authors know what emotion you thought they were describing as well as your reaction to their title in their author's comments section. Feedback is the key.
Thanks for considering my contest! I look forward to your entry!

The poems don't get a title?
-
How many can we write?
-
-
Oh...nevermind.

Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you...I just saw your questions. The title should be the one-word emotion you are describing and it should be placed in your author's comments. You may enter as many times as you like, but will only receive one prize. Hope I'm not too late to answer you. Thanks for looking and good luck!
