After having a kid you have to wait a while to lose weight anyway. You gain a lot from being pregnant and it's unsafe to lose loads of weight while you are pregnant, it puts the childs life at danger. Anyway, yeah just be careful...All I gotta say.

Just remember someone else is depending on you now.Best wishes

My sweey friend below me said it best and believe me , i of all people know exactly what your tlaking about. I had 3 kids and my goawd i ballooned wayyyy up there i only wishe to have the problem you have a mere 18 i would of been blessed of bein then. Of course takes hard work and my issue was kids and depression. I found the comfort in that of food, why we do that i dont k now but believe me. I regretted it. Still do for i am still fighting to be where i wana be. Yet i am doing it a little at a time. Be patient do the right things. I understand the starving thing to, i am battling that, and the urge to purge. Its a battle in a half, for i want to be perfect when i see a man i love. But they say love yourself, the rest falls in place. I agree. But its hard to love yourself when you cant even look in the mirror. Im getting there and i have a ways to go to where i want to be but, I will getthere not for him or anyone or anything but because i want to be where i want to be. And being there deterimnes how you would feel being at that weight. Everyone varies differently. You may feel good at being a 8 and someone else would be happy being 18 Diet right, excercise and pray. I will hold yo within my prayers hun. Good luck to you.
    Always
    Tory

    Curves Are Beautiful

I am a very curvy woman and proud of it. I think you should just be at a weight where you feel comfortable and healthy. Good luck with the contest. Jane

lol - my thoughts on skinny women are that they look sickly
    it's true!
if u had to ask any sane man what he thought about kate moss and then ask if he would prefer marilyn monroe - ten to one says he'll go for the latter (and SHE was a size 14!) ... being thin has nothing to do with it - it's in the confidence (and i say this very tongue in cheek as i too am ALWAYS on about how fat i am!) if a woman walks with confidence and KNOWS she's amazing inside, there should be no question as to whether she IS actually hot!
a woman should NEVER feel embarrassed about her body - it is an amazing gift that we have been given
lol - having said my little speech, i have to add - i am the WORST when it comes to fat (have been told that i'm way too self critical too) and my son (who is now 14) tells me i'm not fat, "just a little bloated" - lmao! gotta love it! and, believe it or not, i STILL wear a bikini to hang around at the pool!
BE PROUD AND CONFIDENT - everything else WILL fall into place

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself about your weight--I've not been a size fourteen since I was about fourteen Although it can be a problem for some, it's never a good thing to stress out about it--because stress often counteracts weight loss. I've never had children, so I can't dole out any advice on that aspect, but I have a cousin who lost weight during her pregnancy (intentionally trying to kill her child since she was mad with its father) and it has its dangers, especially if complicated by other health issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes.

I also have a cousin who was (before she had children) a size zero. I used to think, is that actually possible, to have a size zero? She's about three or four years older than me and is naturally very thin--I've seen her eat all the same things as the rest of us. Perhaps her metabolism is very fast (it's sure a hell of a lot faster than mine). I don't begrudge her at all for it. It's as hard to find size 0 clothing as it is to find stylish size 20 clothing. Since she's had children, though, she's thickened a little to a 4 or 6 or something like that.

However, if you're bent on losing weight, here is my advice:

--do it slowly; no more than two pounds a week should be the goal. If you lose weight faster than that you risk gaining it all back--even faster than you lost it.
--you don't have to kill yourself exercising; I lost 48 pounds just by walking about 75 minutes a day (in two intervals). You can do less and still lose the same amount. It's usually suggested that if you're mostly sedentary (inactive, in other words) 30 minutes of moderate exercise, three times a week, is a good start.
--some changes in diet are necessary; you can lose weight and still eat everything you want in the beginning, but if you want to sustain the loss, you'll have to swap a few things. My main component is water. I try to drink a gallon (not all at the same time, of course!) of water a day, though 64 ounces (two large cups, like the ones you get for an upsize at McDonald's or some other fast food place) is sufficient. Also, eat more fruit...(and vegetables, although I'm still getting used to that as I hate veggies...yuck) and try other ways of cooking food other than frying.
--apple cider vinegar (1 teaspoon per meal) might help too. Don't like the icky aftertaste? You might be able to purchase the tablets at a local health supplement or discount store.

I hope that will at least help in your quest to lose weight. I'm right there with you...and have a much longer way to go. (My ultimate goal is to return to a size 10. Ah, the glory days.)

    Much luck with your contest!

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

Ahh how many times have I glanced at mags and thought "compared to that I'm Shrek"

I'd like to hope that one day the media wont put these super skinny models out in the catwalks and the fashions shows-
    It's not realistic
    And it's not real life.
Those models are miserable and pressured aswell as the teens who want to be like this.

    I'm a happy 14/16.
Proud and probably fat in the eyes of lets say Kate Moss.

    But Im happy.

    Good luck with this!
