Write about those amazing thoughts you have...
The ones where you start out daydreaming in the shower about any random thing and end up a philosopher of life; the ones that switch on a light bulb in your mind the moment a quote, a painting, or a song appears; and the ones that are small and simple but large and grand at the same time.
I want something that will cause myself and others that read these to pause and think. They don't have to be Mona Lisa's, just thoughts that you think are worth putting in to poetic words.
* I love creative titles... if I find a creative title rewarding enough, I will give that poem some extra points.
* Btw- I'm not a fan of poems that ask too many questions throughout the whole piece ESPECIALLY without answering them... just a little hint for you
*** The only requirement that I have is that you write something in your author's notes because usually they really can add to the poem. (For instance... if you tell us where, why or how you thought of this)

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 12, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: I spent an hour and a half reading, re-reading, and changing my mind of which one's I liked best. It was so difficult! If you are in the finalists list, you all deserve a gold in my opinion, and I wish I had more to give out. If only I were an alchemist... *sigh* In the end, sometimes my favorite concepts were just out written by good concepts, and I had to keep into account that this is a writing contest and not a philosophy one.
Thank you all for entering in this contest, I loved reading all these fabulous thoughts! Have a wonderful evening

Thanks for ...
holding this contest that was based upon a great idea ... "food for the famished mind," which I have always viewed as "I'm a very fat woman, cause all I do is eat, eat, eat, and no matter 'how much' - I always am looking for more!
I so appreciate the trophy and points and really am glad that you found my poem to feed you too. Eat ... and be merry always. joy
