This is the final haiku written by Basho:
sick on a journey -
over parched fields
dreams wander on.
I thought that it would be interesting to find out what it would inspire in differing eyes. So to enter write a haiku, based upon your own thoughts upon this piece. Please use the 5-7-5 count, anything outwith this will not be considered for judging. sorry.
judging will, unfortunately, be subjective!

Strangely enough, I have a contest post I've drafted up based on this same Basho haiku-inspriration--REALLY! I'll definitely see what I can draw as inspiration for an entry to your contest.

Lovely way to move on. A like idea for a contest. Me, I have no Haiku skill.

it seems quite interesting that all three lines contain five syllables each......?

hmmm... a great one by Basho. It reminds me of morning sickness. Sorry I missed this but anyone interested in haiku should send me one for Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto for me to consider for the collection I am making about World Wonders. http://www.new7wonders.com/index.php?id=374

congratulations to all winners and thank you so much for honoring me with the Bronze trophy. Thank you as well for hosting this inspirational contest. I will never be a haiku expert [but it is a form I enjoy very much]
