I just won gold in Elisabeth Strange's contest and it gave me an idea to do a contest on 'Gold'.
I would like poems on what it must have been like for the men to strike gold during the times of the gold rush.
I want to feel the excitement they must have felt after finding that elusive nugget that would make them rich and/or the disappointment of those who didn't manage to find the nuggets they sought.
I prefer rhyme but will accept any form except haiku.
Rules:-
No sticky caps.
No bashing other poets.
No dark, adult, abuse, death of any form.
Please keep swearing to a minimum, no more than 3 swear words to be used if you think it is absolutely necessary.
Please stick to the theme or you will be DQ'd.
Please make entries readable, choose your backgrounds carefully, if I can't read it I will DQ it.
Minimum 20 lines.
If less than 3 entries I will delete.
My decision is final.
Have fun.
