Welcome to my first form contest for quite a while, I have decided to move away from the debate topic of Haiku as someone always picks an arguement about how they should be written!
I would like this time Rictameters, any topic just make sure you double check your syllable count
For those of you who have never written on before it is as follows
Rictameter is a scheme similar to Cinquain. Starting your first line with a two syllable word, you then
consecutively increase the number of syllables per line by two. i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 Then down again,
8, 6, 4, 2 Making the final line the same two syllable word you began with.
To see an example please see http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/rictameter.html
I am not strict on content and this time, for the first time I am letting you all enter prewrites as I know there are some great ones already written.
Just a few rules.
1. Please stick to the above form, I will be checking on syllable count
2. No sticky caps or chat speak - I don't even know how that would fit into this form
3. Don't bash each others poetry, play nice
4. DO NOT answer any of my comments until the contest has been judged. I want to keep this blind.
I will not comment on any pieces until the contest is over and ready for judging.
Thanks

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 21, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 600, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: This was a brilliant contest to judge, apart from the fact I had to DQ 12 people for entering random pieces without form. You have all done a brilliant job, but for me those top six poems stood out far above the rest. I look forward to seeing all your entries into my future contests
Karen
