![]() ![]() ![]() | This contest-theme predates MTV, Sesame Street and the NBC Peacock... Growing-up in the mid-1950's and 1960's, TV is a very large part of my childhood memories. TV programming ranged from "Mr. Ed" and "Twilight Zone" to Walter Cronkite's teary-eyed announcement following the Dallas assassination. It's not necessarily haiku of 17 syllables-or-less of 1960's TV shows required for this contest, but anything relating to the old black-and-white TV set at all, whether that be rabbit ears, the TV "snow," or those memorable commercials. If you are writing of a specific TV program/TV advertisement, please note the show/product in Author's Notes--Maybe it's one of those I remember too!!! THE RULES: choose. THE AWARDS-REWARDS: + MANY So have fun and write a haiku memory-or-two of the good ol' days of black-and-white TV! Jo http://www.feelingnostalgic.com/ |

- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 16 people
- Final notes: First, to thank you all for your patience in my finalizing judging of this contest. I ran into some computer problems, which mysteriously fixed itself signing on to AP today.
All these entries brought back some great memories of the old days of black-and-white TV, whether it be the shows, the TV sets or even those rabbit-ears. I truly enjoyed reading each entry.
