So I thought I'd have another quick contest. They're fun to have and it's neat to find good entries written in such a short time, though obviously my quick contests are a bit longer than some others.
Anyway, here's your prompt: closet.
As always, do not mention the word in your poem. Write about it, around it, allude to it, whatever, but don't use the actual word. I like seeing poetry based on/around something, but that doesn't necessarily need it to seal the deal, if that makes any sense.
Poems that tell stories will score brownie points with me, but that doesn't mean they'll win. Strong imagery also scores big points with me.
Don't use the word in the title of your poem because I don't want multiple entries with the same title and thus risk confusing myself.
One entry only.
No rhyme--I *will* boot your entry out if you write a rhyming poem. Don't argue this with me because you'll just lose.
No flowery or emo shit.
Write properly.
Free-verse would be much appreciated.
Twenty lines or less--short poems pack more of an impact with me.

- Final notes: Jesus H. Christ, I should've put in a rule forbidding the use of the word "skeleton" and its various forms. Seems like half you jokers decided to be lazy and throw it in there. It seemed, too, that many of you decided to either go the literal route and write about a closet (boring), or write about the usual "skeletons in the closet" type of thing (even more boring). Come on now...you can do better. The sole trophy-winner here actually did well. Read his entry, you'll see why.
