Looking For Crickets II

WE WANT FRESH WRITES ONLY!!!!!!!!

We  will tell you first and foremost this
contest will not be as easy as you might think.

You better read every portion of this page
with a fine-tooth comb and not miss a thing.

One false move, one rule not followed,
one bit of rudeness, or anything of the nature
will get you thrown out instantly WITHOUT warning.

We are looking for crickets!

If you know us then you probably know
what we are referring to. For those of you that
haven't a clue what we are meaning I will tell you
now. When we say 'cricket' we are referring to writes
penned in such an amazing way that we are literally
left speechless. Only 4 poets have managed that on
this site thus far. Will you be the next one?

You may enter ONLY once!

You may enter any genre!

You may enter any form you wish!

Know now your contest hosts are AP teachers.
Also, many of the other teachers will be joining
us in the judging of this contest. We are all qualified in various areas and forms and will be reading over your entry with a fine-tooth comb.

Failure to comply with any of the following
will result in your being removed from this
contest WITHOUT warning!

RULES:

If it's adult or erotic label it correctly!

If adult or erotic you MUST be 18yrs of age!

If it's dark it better make us cringe!

If it's sensual it better stimulate our minds!

Proper punctuation is a MUST!

No self-created forms!

MUST be left aligned only,
unless form entered requires center alignment!

No swearing!
It has no place in poetry!

Backgrounds and fonts MUST be readable
WITHOUT having to highlight!

MUST contain poetic devices!

Avoid cliché like the plague!
ANY cliché will get you removed.

If you enter a form you MUST
state what form you have penned in
your author's comment!

No bashing of writers or their work!

No disrespecting the hosts, the judges or any writers!

If you are removed you are welcome
to re-enter once more!

No arguing with the hosts or judges!
ALL decisions are FINAL!

If you cannot handle honest critiques
please DO NOT enter as we will be honest,
and in some cases brutally honest!

No chat speak or sticky caps!

If you are going to use street slang do it right!

If you are going to rhyme be impressive!

If you are entering a piece over 40 lines
you better hold our attention!

Fresh writes ONLY!

Celticmoon nor myself do not want something
we have commented on previously!

(Temporary Rule)

For the next ten minutes which will end approximately at 3:15 pm TODAY, we will allow pre-writes for only TEN - TWENTY lucky entrants.  In addition to this temporary rule, your pre-write MUST NOT HAVE BEEN IN CONTEST(S) OVER TWO

Throwing a ‘temper-tantrum’ just because you were removed will definitely earn you a boot and a(n) ignore/ban from entering ANY future Cricket contests!!!

Go deep!

Be brilliant!

Impress us!

NOTE*

If you receive a comment from either myself or
Celticmoon that reads simply 'cricket' then congrats
and consider yourself on the finalist list.

Again, failure to comply with any of
the above will result in your being
removed WITHOUT warning!

We reserve the right to add additional rules
as we see fit and or as needed without warning
so be certain to check back for any possibly changes!

We will be accepting 1000 entries. By the
time of judging there is a good chance that
there will only be half of you left, IF that!

Will you be one of them?

Care to find out?

Then go ahead and enter now!

Good Luck!

NOTE*

Due to the enormous questions about the prewrite option no longer open is because we felt that this time around ONLY fresh written pieces will be accepted.  For the few entries that are prewrites when the contest began, will remain and the contest moving forward.  As judges, we do reserve the right to change our minds when it comes to doing such a contest of this magnitude.

Thank you,

Celticmoon

    I don't understand

One place: Prewrites ONLY! If you enter something fresh it will be removed! Another place: Prewritten poems aren not allowed. Confusing.

the last one of these "cricket" contests I entered I received a comment from the judge "Uber cricket"....did that mean I was a cricket? Is "Uber" a foreign word? Or does it mean that I was a cricket squashed? hmmmmm....the things I have to think about....
