Add a verse. for Tapestry of poets world record attempt

This poem will be used to help promote our book here on AP and in other places you may wish to use it. The more fun we have the more appealing our book will sound. So get your thinking caps on and lets do a Mammoth poem showing all the great talent the book holds.

30 points to each of you for being great supporters.

As you all know the glory in thi is achieving the world record.

As such you are ALL winners.

Gold silver and bronze will not be based on your poems because it is impossible to find any of the verses that are better than any other. They shall be awared to the three people who have helped me achieve this amazing project.

To avoid any confusion for any late entries.

READ THIS

ONE verse about poetry.

READ a few to see what we need. Get a guideline from them. This is supposed to be a poem that FLOWS in subject matter.

If you get a message to change your poem and it is removed. It is because I have to keep an exact record of entries from the list. With so many poets it would cause utter confusion to leave a verse in that I have asked someone to change. It is NOT DQ'd because of any other reason.

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE

WE PASSED OUR TARGET OF 150.

I AM OVER THE MOON WITH EXCITMENT.  WELL DONE FOR RALLYING AROUND AND MAKING THIS HAPPEN EVEN BETTER THAN EXPECTED.

You may still enter until closing on 20th

because the more we have the better it will be and the harder it will be to knock out our record. !!!!!

Wow, this sounds interesting. One thing though - how will we know when our turn is? I'm the 101st or so, and that may take a whole lot of time (can't even imagine about the last person). Do we get notified or something? Either way, nice idea. You are so dedicated to this project.

It's not really a contest, but a created place where each of the participants in the book, writes a little something and then all those little somethings are put together in one book advertising page.

Each Poet Who Contributed To Book 1

Each of us have written one verse of poetry in attempt to promote Book one. It doesn't matter the order it is in, just read a couple of the others to get the idea. No need for it to be placed in any particular order since they are all promoting the same theme in your own artistic way. Theme is "Why should they read our book?" We would fall under the Arts and Media Category in the Guinness World Records, so far no one has accomplished this particular record. We want to be the first! If each poet who wrote a poem for the book would write their verse for this part Jan would be off and running with this endeavor in no time. Time is of the essence, get moving poets!

There are queries about this concept which I shall add to even though I applaud those who are taking partin the attempt. It seems to me that this not poetry nor the longest poem etc. It is merely a collection of words stitched together to achieve a record (and a rather artificial record at that). It brings to mind the image of the W.I. members attempting to knit the longest scarf in the world. A bit like fifty designers creating Joseph's Technicolor Dreamcoat. I won't be taking part as I have no desire to get my name in the Guiness Book - not sour grapes, I wish all well, just a statement of fact as I see it. Be happy.

That's fine and thanks so much for checking it out. You see this is not really meant for you as it is to promote the Allpoetry Book one which Kevin is having published as we speak. The record gives us enough publicity to encourage each poets local bookstore to stock some copies and help sell the concept. So the extra people who enter have done so to kindly help and support the 150 poets who have written great poems in that Book. You don't have to support them. They have plenty of good supporters. Thanks so much for looking anyway. I am sure Kevin shares with me in saying you do not have to do anything to support AP if you don't want to.

      Hi Ryan Honey
Yes basically it is a poem of peoples feelings about poetry. In order to understand you actually have to read the verse last written and follow the theme which is about what poetry means to us all. Pretty easy really as only a couple of lines are needed. I hope this helps you understand.

That's strange. I entered something last night, and it still isn't showing up on this page??? It shows up on my author's page, and it lists that my entry has been placed, but here it doesn't list me at all. *Scratching my head* What happened?

I'm really uncomfortable about giving my real name out to complete strangers on the web; could I perhaps be granted permission to use my ap name as a pen name? Please?

Jan, I just read the message that we hit the 150 mark. I'm sorry to hear that not all of the people in the book contributed a little verse to promote our success in the first ever book of poets from All Poetry. To me this is an honor and I was quite happy to be a part of the verse as well. Thank you everyone who shared in this and to all of you out there, keep that ink flowing. We are the world!!!!! Love and God bless us all, Joyce

How wonderful that we hit the big 150 and even more. Lots of hard work you have done to get this to this stage and I am certainly grateful for all your efforts - so excited about seeing the final results.

Hon I told you that I want a versse from you and would you do another one about poetry. I like what you did but it didn't fit in with the rest and it needs to flow like a poem. I can't leve it in or we get a fake total of vereses and poets. So I am waiting for a new one from you

    Big Question

Who contacted the Guinness book of records to make this happen? WHO will be the person to claimn the honor of it? As I understand it, the poem will be submitted by Janice, so she gets the honor of " writing it" when it is all our work.
Thanks But No thanks- I have pulled mine.
THis is not a contest, but a self promotion and rewarding those who do the most to help her get her ' claim to fame'

Well ALL the other poets know that the fame is in the book and that All Poetry poets get the glory. If you understood anything about this you would know how really silly your comment is. Thank goodness all the poets involved have a full understanding of the purpose behind this. Oh and by the way ... I achieved my claim to fame as an actress model a long time ago and no longer consider it a goal in life. Thank goodness the poets know what the truth is and will just laugh at this. I wish you well on behalf of all of us. It's sad you chose to leave.

Janice, I have just come back here and found that I seem to be a bit out of the loop; I did know that this was meant to help promote the Allpoetry book one but did not realise that the tapestry was going to be published as a separate, stand alone publication... I thought it was just going to be used from here ( the AP site ) and submitted from the site to the Guiness book as a record attempt.
I seem to have no way to get updated on what is going on with the work I submitted for this contest and was quite surprised when I checked Lulu to find that it is in publication with your name on the cover as author.

I do feel that to see my piece apparently hijacked for commercial use, without notification or feedback, is disrespectful to me and quite possibly to others here as well...

Is there some way you could explain to me what is going on? I should note that at no time did I give permission for publication anywhere else but on this site, nor do I see any reason why it should be necessary for it to be published somewhere else. I have been waiting for the finished work to be posted so that I may have a look at the work that all of us did together but I did not expect that I would have to buy the book to find out what it looks like.

    Adrian
