Welcome to my 10th contest here on AP. I did a contest a long time ago with these options and I really liked the results so I decided to hold another one.
(The points will go up soon. The more entries I get, the more points will be up.)
Here's the deal, I like to challenge people, get them to write something they might not be familiar with. So here's how it's going to go
Option 1: Send me a message and request a title. I will then choose a title off a premade list I have. You will then have 48 hours to write a poem using that title.
Option 2: Send me a message and request a word bank. I will then choose a word bank off a premade list I have. You will then have 48 hours to write a poem using all of the words in that word bank.
Option 3: Send me a message with the title of what you think is your best poem to date. I will review it, comment on it and then give you a title and word bank based on that poem and you will have 48 hours to create an entirely new piece. The new piece can be the same genre of the old one or it can be completely different as long as it incorporates the new title and word bank.
Now, I'll make this quick
Rules:
1. No sticky caps
2. No spelling errors or IM language
3. Keep the swearing to a minimum
4. No bashing, constructive criticism is however encouraged.
5. Erotica will be accepted as long as it is kept in moderation and labeled as being adult.
That's about it. Come flex your poetry muscles and let me see what you're made of.
(One last thing. If you don't meet the 48 hour deadline to write the poem, you can attempt to re-enter by sending a new request for a different title or wordbank, or best piece)
Please include which option you chose. If it's a word bank option include the word bank I gave you in the author's comments.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on July 18, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: I'd like to thank all of you for entering. I won't go and say this was an extremely difficult contest to judge as it wasn't. That isn't to say that there were lots of bad poems. Most were pretty good. These entries that one just jumped out at me more than the others. So congrats to the winners, good luck next time to all of you who didn't place. Thus I give you:
First Place: - "I Didn't Kill God, I Just Suggested a Retirement Plan" (A darker piece very well constructed, flows to a very strong ending)
Second Place: - "Hourglass of Blood" (Also a somewhat darker piece with a contemporary style.)
Third Place: - "Flaghlight Reveries" (a slightly whimsical piece with an air of nostalgia about it)
Honorable Mentions:
-"Music in the Mirror" (a bit of a light hearted story told with some very unique imagery)
-"Lady Lighthouse" (A simply beautiful story of a sailor and a lighthouse)
I highly recommend that all of you take a chance to read at least one of these. It's worth it.
With that I thank you all once again for participating in my little experiment and I hope to see you all again in my next contest.
