Now, for your challenge.
This contest will be extended a lot, because you'll need time to get this done.
I want four poems from each of you. You are each to collaborate with every single other contestant and pen me a poem, and I'll be giving you your prompt in just a bit. That means that you will collaborate on four different poems. I don't want to see more than two names per poem, or less than two, either. That means no collaborations with three people working on one poem. I want some one-on-one interaction between you and each other contestant.
Make sense? If not, message me and I'll explain it to you. Each poem in the contest will be entered twice, once by each person that collaborated on it.
Put your username first in your author's notes, followed by the username of the person you collaborated with.
Now, for your prompt:
"It was as though the devil himself wept tears of pure sound." -Phantom by Susan Kay
Write.

hmmm
can we collaberate however we feel most comfortable? like someone writes the first half, and then the other can add and edit... etc? or is there a certain way we should do it. -
-
We share ideas on the prompt, decide whether we write freeverse or rhyme. One goes first, the other can add to it, interweave or seperate - which ever is easier
My link is here now, so if anyone wishes to get startd, I'm here
The problem we all have is not knowing who else is in this round.
-
-
Im here
so let me know who's ready
can't start right away but maybe in a few hours!
-
-
I have writers block, but if you wanna start a piece and then send it to me to add to, I'd be most grateful
Rhyme or freeverse, I don't mind
-
-
well, this might all be a bit of a problem, as I don't have regular internet access for the next two weeks or so... I'll only be able to seriously work on it starting the 15th of July, I fear...
-
-
The different time zones will be difficult too, I've seen challenges fall apart because people aren't online at the same time
-
Hi, don't worry about timings, just IM me your part of our collab and I'll do the rest
I'll wait for your IM

Write your contribution to our piece, decide how to take the prompt and IM me what you've got
I'll add my own to it and edit it accordingly. I have a writers block of sorts and cant seem to start anything, although finishing and formatting are no problem. I look forward to receiving your part of our collab

However you feel most comfortable.

Well for me as far as time zones i'm gmt (Ireland) but i'm also an insomniac. I do however work from 9 to 6 every week day and as for poetry - im good at rhyming (i've been told) and I also like freeverse - form poetry is good too - I don't have a lot of it up here but I've dabbled in quite a few different forms! you guys can im me anytime - ive started workin out a few ideas
-
-
alrighty
i'm ready for the ideas you were talking about. just im me, i go on and off, so the communication's probably gonna be slow, but we can work it out right? nothing's impossible.

i was just gonna do just that...
thanks

i have a question
it's 4 poems each right?? so BOTH of us ((the collaborators)) post the SAME poem up? -
-
Yes, four poems each. I want both of you to post the poem with your name and the other author's name in the author's notes.
-
-
So the same poems should be entered twice? One by each? or do you want it paired like in stanza... each stanza is entered ~ or how we collabrate is up to us?
-
ehem~
i just noticed.....
it's set so that each user can only submit one poem each...
-
-
Oh, I'm sorry! I'll go change that right now.
-
Okay, I fixed it. <3
-
-
thank you SO much~
oh, should i re-enter it? or can you open it to prewrites for just a second? i can slip it in and you can close it to prewrites again. -
-
Absolutely. Refresh the page a few times while I go fix it and then slip it in there.
-
Okay, it's open for prewrites.
-
-
ok. you can close it for prewrites now~
-
-
-
-
-
Please, please don't shoot me, but...
I'm dropping out...
I can only spend a reasonable amount of time online in a week or so, and I can't actually spare that time then, as I have to retake 7 exams... And I seriously have to pass or I have a huge problem.
I'm so sorry, I wish I could make up for it...
-
-
It's okay. Of course, I'm sad to see you go, but I understand your reasoning. Good luck on your exams!
-
-
thank you
-
-
-
I figured I should mention how exactly I'll be judging. I'll pick my favorite poem, and the two people that wrote it will be the two moving on.
-
-
ahh. interesting
-
-
When all of your entries are in, leave a comment here that says 'done'!
-
Done
We're all done

Fun rounds ~ thanks for the fun~ I wish both Teddibly and Laura the best of luck~
