Strike my emotions and Join my AP Family

Welcome to my newest AllPoetry.com contest.

In this contest you must create (or submit) a poem that strikes my emotions. It can be three lines long, or three stanzas. It doesn't really matter, length-wise. The important part is that you "hit the mark." The mark being my emotions. Make me cry, make me laugh, make me upset, make me feel sorry for someone, make me feel like ripping someone's arms off for being to cruel-it doesn't matter which emotion you jerk around, just hit the mark.

The Top Five in the contest can choose to become a member of my AP family. If you want to join my AP family, place what you want to be in my family in your authors notes. Then hope that you win.

Want to know more about me? Check out my AP page. Want to know even more than that tells you? Check out the homepage link on my AP page.

**DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to lure you to my MySpace page in order to build up my friend count. I am simply stating that if you wish to know more about me that is a place you can go.**

Soooooo........--->>>

Here are my rules, a.k.a: the things I look for:

1. Poems must have something to do with the above statements.
2. The background should fit the poem.
3. Poems must flow smoothly and easily.
4. Poems should be longer than one, 4-line stanza (i.e. - two or more 4-line stanzas or longer, or similar length), or "hit the mark".
5. You CANNOT rhyme a word with itself.
6. You must have a nose in the middle of your face.
7. No sticky caps allowed.
8. Do not capitalize the entire poem.
9. You MUST know the answer to "What is 2+2?".
10. Come up with a unique identifying name and place it in the authors notes. Use this ID name for every poem you submit to my contest. DO NOT use your AllPoetry.com user name.
11. Also in the authors notes, place what you would like to be in my AP family.

Some notes:

I like comedy
I like original
Poems should make SOME sense, at least
Don't force rhymes
If the poem is really deep and confusing, and I can't tell what it's about... well, idk what to tell you...
You can enter as many times as you wish

VERY IMPORTANT

If your piece breaks one of these rules you will be notified and must take corrective action ASAP. If you do not, your poem may be removed from the contest and will be disqualified.

If you have read the rules then close your eyes, open your heart, and let the rhythm flow. Good Luck to all who enter!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 20, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 55, Bronze: 13
  • Final notes:
    Congratulations to the Winners!
    Thanks to all for entering.

Just so you know, the poems that won were the ones that made me want to do something. Example: cry, laugh out loud, beat the s#!t out of someone...etc...

Obviously the winners have won points, but EVERY person on the finalists list will get to be in my AP family if they chose to be. Congrats!

Thanks to everyone for entering! I hope you all continue to enter contests in the future and move forward in developing your skills as a poet.

And on a final note, if you did not place or even make it to the finalists list that ONLY means you did not hit my mark. It means NOTHING else. You could have had an awesome poem, but if it did not strike my emotions (as the title of the contest states) then I would not place you or even consider you. Sorry.

    Congrats and thanks to all!
