Considering the large amount of poets that are jumping on the quickie bandwagon, and since they are my favorite contests to enter and to hold, I figured I'd better start one. Heck, why not?
You know the drill. For those who don't:
This contest is set to close after 10 entries. During the time this contest is open, just post your poem as a reservation spot. Then, write your poem through the edit box to make it a complete work. This last part has to be done in ten minutes, otherwise you will be DQ'd.
---
Here's your prompt:
"stopwatch roses in an hourglass garden."
Don't title your poem after the prompt.
Don't use the prompt in your poem, that would leave you with only four words - just be inspired by it.
No erotica.

Now, go crazy.

I think you should wait until after the entries have been made before presenting a prompt

Ah. I actually did take that into notice, but I let it slide. I never held one of these before, so I'm actually a tad rusty as far as contest-holding goes.

you lose the timing aspect otherwise

Oh, I see what you're getting at. I'll keep that in mind when holding another, if I get around to it.
This fad is a bit new to me, I'm only used to entering and not holding. Thanks for the tip.
