Take up your Quill and Pen me a Masterpiece

I want the best poem you can write.

We all know the rules, so make it clean.

I like Dark writes, Erotica, Epics, Form poetry, rhyme as long as its not forced. I like poems that are more than ten or fifteen words. Tell me a story, use imagery, metaphor, whatever, make it good.

What I DONT like: Haiku, Emo (such as cutting, suicide, etc.) There are plenty of little whining emo contests out there. I dont like Haiku or Dirty pretty either. Punctuation is used for a purpose. I dont like Cliche writes either, make it original. If Ive read your poem a thousand times in a thousand different places, you can still enter, but you wont place in this contest.

My only rule:
MAKE IT SO I CAN READ YOUR WRITE PLEASE. No crazy types, no weird, unreadable backgrounds. I like good backgrounds, but please, make it so I can read it without highlighting.

Ok, now, here are the options:

Option 1: USE all these words: silver, mentholated, higher, stone, shock, barrier, screaming, wonder, hopeless, ground, liquid, frustration.

Option 2: Erotica. (no trashy crap, give it some class here)

Option 3: Dark or Horror writes. (the darker and more horrifying the better)

Option 4: Fantasy. (Dragons, RP characters, castles, Lord and Lady, etc.)

Option 5: Form poetry (sonnet, ballad, etc. Any topic, or use one from above.)

Option 6: Image inspired, here is the Link:

Please tell me which option you chose.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 27, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
There were a lot of amazing entries in this contest. Im sorry I didnt get a chance to comment on all of them, I will comment on them all, as soon as I can. Please stay tuned for a new contest.

Also, The winners are the ones that "spoke" to me the most. Sometimes someone will say to me, "why did this one win over that one?" Well, just personal taste really. They won because I liked them. I had a LOT of fun reading through all the entries, they were all deserving to get something, and if I had the points, I would give at least HM's to all that entered.
