Okay, my first contest! Not many points on offer here, I apologise for that, just wanted to have a go and see how I get along.
Right, from the title of the contest, you can tell I am a fantasy fan. To make things easier and give you an idea of what styles I like, I will be giving you three options:
1) You are the leader of a band of mercenaries. There is a great evil threatening to destroy the planet, and the people have turned to you as a last desperate measure. Talk about how you and your comrades fight to save the people, the battlefield and how you eventually overcome the evil. Remember, this is fantasy:Monsters,Weapons,Magick etc to be included.
This is the DARK option. Put DARK in your author's notes.
2)You are walking through a heavily wooded and enchanted area, reknowned for being a place where people go missing. You stumble upon a group of wonderful mythical beasts in the centre of the area. Describe the journey there, then the beasts in turn (however many you want to have) and then how you end it is up to you. Make it an unusual ending, make me feel surprised. This is the LIGHT option. Put LIGHT in your author's notes.
3)As a young magick apprentice with a great untapped power, you struggle with your conscience : Do you use your powers for good, or do you use them for evil? Describe the inner battle of what you feel, eventually concluding which path you want to take. This is the MYSTERY option. Put MYSTERY in your author's notes.
------------------------------------------------------
Below are the rules for the contest.
1)No sticky caps, I hate them.
2)I would prefer all spelling and grammar to be crisp and spot on, but I will be lenient if it isn't.
3)I'm not bothered by the erotica style if you wanted to use it. If it is too explicit though, you will be DQ.
4)You must put your option in your Author's Notes, or you will be DQ.
5)Pre writes are okay....but I like new. Try making it new.
Thats about all...enjoy the contest and have fun. I look forward to seeing some decent fantasy writes.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 26, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 30, Bronze: 23, Honorable mention: 1 people
- Final notes: Well, due to time constraints, I've had to bring the closing date of the contest forward quite abruptly. So i've made up my mind, and this is my final order:
1st goes to Final Reality. It was a perfect poem describing a defining moment in Final Fantasy X, and I adore it. Well done.
2nd goes to the poem that contested 1st place for a while. The Legacy of Alaric Greyvictor was a supurb story, I adored it. It sadly got edged into 2nd at the last second. It is a poem worthy of the fantasy genre.
3rd goes to We Didn't Start The Fire...She Did. Again, another poem I enjoyed reading. It was an excellenty composed piece of writing, and I hope this poet enters some of my future contests .
And the honerable mention goes to The Dragon's Tear. I loved this poem because it was in a story format, and I really don't see them very often. Well done to this poet, continue writing my friend.
Commiserations to the poem Charlatan. It was one of the most unusual poems i've read, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. If the author of this poem tells me their favourite genre of poetry, I will eventually make another contest about it, because I want to see what they can do .
Well done everyone, you were fantastic.

"Charlatan" just happens to be the format I put stories in. *shrug* Don't quite know the why's and whatfore's on it.
I like your contests, so I'm most definitely going to try and keep entering.
