Sorry... but that's exactly what it is!
I'm giving you a list of 20 titles... you can pick one and write a poem to that title.
Take the poem anywhere you want... be as metaphorical as you want...actually, that is highly encouraged! The point here is to be creative.
I know that most of the titles may seem dark, but the poem need not be.
So... on to the titles list: ..some are song title, others words taken from songs.. etc...
1 A Wolf at the Door
2 A Knife in the Dark
3 One Way to Kill a Man
4 And then there was Silence
5 Some Shadows Scream
6 The Universe in my Hand
7 Painting the Invisible
8 The Road less chosen
9 I Stared into Oblivion
10 How to Save a Life
11 A Distant Ship's Smoke on the Horizon
12 Blurring the Edges
13 Warning Sign
14 Two Beds and a Coffee Machine
15 Harvest of Sorrow
16 Everything in it's right place
17 Wanted: Dead or Alive
18 Not all those who wander are lost
19 Hello Darkness, my Old Friend
20 The Four Horsemen (of the apocalypse)
Bonus option.... Be inspired by the picture.. but the title has to be 'I'm going out on a limb'
SO.. the rules, coz you gotta love 'em...
1. Good grammer.. and please PLEASE use spellcheck!!
2. No erotica
3. NO POEMS OVER 30 LINES! (35 at the very most) (YOU WILL BE DQ!)
4. No poems that have already placed gold, silver or bronze in another contest.
5. You can change the pronouns in the titles
If you break the rules i will have to disqualify, or it will not be fair on those people that followed them.
Enjoy... and write away!
I will comment on every single entry after the contest closes.
Just a note... if you do not see your poem in the finalist list, it does not mean anything.. i change my mind a lot.. and I may add honorable mentions for more winners.

Hey I was just looking for the first poem I wrote, are you limiting each person to one entry in your contest settings? coz in this case if I enter a new one the old one is replaced
so there is an "invisible" limit lol -

Does the line length include spaces between lines? I have just submitted a poem but cannot shorten it - but without spaces between the lines it is under 35 lines..
