When You Know its Wrong - But you Believe its Right (winner takes all)

Earlier this year I completely lost my faith - I mean REALLY lost it.  Everyone can see there's evidence - really good evidence around to show that faith - in anything - whether its religion or magick or something else, is usually all in the mind.

After much thought and deliberation I came to an odd conclusion. I know my faith is wrong but I believe its right.

Its wrong because all the evidence points to it being so - but its right because it gives me a grounding - something to care about, something to relieve the monotony and boredom of everyday life - the thought that despite all the arguments that there is someone or something out there that constitutes as being a God of sorts...and having that hope makes me feel GOOD.

OPTIONS

1. Write about your own personal faith

2. Write an ambiguous poem, partly explaining why you feel your faith may be wrong but also why it is right for you.

3. Write about exactly what BELIEF is.  In my opinion Belief is not KNOWING but it is faith in something - a sort of deep hoping.

4. Write about why you believe

5. Argue about why you do not agree with a certain faith - but here's the twist if you choose this option you must also indicate that you can understand the other party's point of view by comparing their belief to your own.

    What a contest

Well, Eli, this one made me think. I rather agree with you. I was educated (but not raised) a catholic. God has always been a confusing concept. But for some reason, I am in awe of churches and church music. My husband calls me a hypocrite. I won't tell you what I call him...!! There's a little church near me that I go to, not inside, just to the memorial benches or even just the carpark, when I need a bit of a stocktake. Mad, probably....

    impressive!

what i've read touched me deep, i mean it's been my whole life was floating around that subject, i mean "God" "faith"... but wait, i know with no evidence, that's why i can say i Believe, that i don't know if there is God or not. And i say "...Rejoice of their death was my symbol trust
And the fearless fear grew from my Reason lust..."
I believe we create God, and we create Evil.
