a word. Something that is so light but not always given easily. Something we can treasure forever.
Enclose a word that you have received and could consider a gift in a free verse poem, no longer than 20 lines. Be creative and honest.
I would like each of you to think of something someone has said to you that has touched you deeply. However, as gifts can sometimes be inadequate, words too can be a burden. But, it has to be one word, and it has to have had a huge impact in your life.
Have your way with the prompt. I would like it if you told me in your author comments the circumstances you have been told that word, how, and why it has had such a great influence on your life. That is not a rule though.
There is only one other rule - please write the word in your author comments.
Honest-sounding, imagery-full, concise, and unique poetry is what will win this contest.
Good luck to all!
