Okay, so I'm talking mainly to younger teens =]
But I guess everyone is free to enter and express an opinion.
Two options.
I look at all the contests for "kids"
They're mainly for poets under 15.
And I swear to god.
The hosts act like we're all retarded.
(Not to offend anyone)
They're all "Try and use these words" :
And
Hat
You
Bucket
Love
Bed
Although I'm sure these contests are very encouraging towards younger poets..
I'm 14, and to be honest. Most of the time I'm either offended by the contests, or I laugh at them.
I have a wide range of vocabulary and I can use grammar, I can also spell most words without a problem. And i've been able to do all that since I was like what.. 11?
So.
Tell me what you think about allpoetry's Kid contests.
The other option is..
Teenagers, enter what you feel is your BEST write that shows just how intelligent you are. Please think about this, because if you enter a poem about lets say.. cutting. That shows what..?
No Rules,
But do keep other peoples feelings in mind =]
EDIT : No poems on cutting please, no poems with the vocabulary of an 8 year old. We're showing intelligence!!

Wow... I'm sure you're going to have more than a hundred entries until your contest closes... I wish you the strength and dedication to read every entry you receive.
Good luck!

Thank you!! :]

Its true, most of the teenage contests out there have like options like write a poem about this winnie the pooh picture or write about your favorite TV show. Most of us are a little to old for that.
-
Power to the teenagers against the patronising oldies! Wahey
lol that isn't a very intelligent comment but, sometimes it just has to be said. Good luck with your contest and take care x
-
you're right. fuck. just to add, i did enter. and i'm really fifteen. ignore my profile, i got sick while on poets.com (til it went fucking beta) of poets saying i was good for someone my age. fuck them right, while reading their stuff which i felt like saying and your stuff is good for someone my age. rank amatuer is what it is. why can tanyone see and practicepoetry as what it is? a life, not a hobby. a vocation inimitable and inherent to blood, not a passing interest. its the final nd most perfect tragic art. why cant the imbeciles of no gender, of blind sight and precenceptions of rhyme and meter, leave it alone.
-
I'm 17, can i enter?
-
-
Of course!!
This contest is open to all teens :]
-
-
so true, hun awesome contest
PEACE! -
Hey, I was wondering how many entries are we allowed to enter? ♥
-
-
Hihi :]
I'm afraid it is one entry per poet.
I think it is fairer that way.
-
-
Great contest that really challenges young people to do their best!
I think it wouldn't be fair for me to enter b/c I'm almost 16, but I hope you get a ton of entries! Keep writing poet!
-
